Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti Celebration at LBS Govt. College Saraswati Nagar | 02-10-2025

The Rovers and Rangers Unit of Lal Bahadur Shastri Government College, Saraswati Nagar, celebrated Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti on 2nd October 2025 with great enthusiasm. Volunteers from Rovers and Rangers, NSS, and NCC came together to mark this auspicious occasion. As part of the celebration, a cleanliness drive was organized in which all the units collaborated, reflecting the true spirit of the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. The event was conducted under the valuable guidance of Dr. Poonam Mehta, Principal of the College.The cleanliness initiative was actively supported by Assistant Prof. Priyanka Puharta (Rover and Ranger Unit Leader), Assistant Prof. Pawan Kumar, Assistant Prof. Priti Panta, and Dr. Rohit Mokta (NCC Unit In-charge), who motivated the students to participate wholeheartedly. The joint efforts of all the volunteers made the program a meaningful tribute to the great leaders.

The Rovers and Rangers Unit of LBS Government College, Saraswati Nagar, celebrated the first day of Non-Violence Week on 29 September 2025. The event was held under the guidance of Dr. Poonam Mehta, Head of the Institution, was organized by Adult Ranger Leader Prof. Priyanka Puharta.
As part of the day’s activities, competitions in slogan writing and poster making were conducted to encourage creativity and awareness among the students. Ranger Simran secured the first position in poster making, while Ranger Poonam bagged the first position in slogan writing.
The celebration highlighted the values of peace and non-violence, inspiring students to follow the ideals of harmony in their lives.

Independence Day| 15 August, 2025
The Rovers and Rangers Unit of LBS College proudly took part in the 79th Independence Day celebration on August 15, 2025, showcasing immense enthusiasm and patriotism. The festivities commenced at 10:00 AM on the college campus, where students, faculty, and staff convened to honour the spirit of freedom and pay homage to the nation'. The ceremony began with the esteemed Principal, Dr. Poonam Mehta, hoisting the National Flag, followed by a heartfelt rendition of the national anthem sung in unison, which filled the atmosphere with a sense of pride and unity. A well-organized parade, featuring the NCC and the Rovers and Rangers Unit and NSS, showcased remarkable discipline and dedication. A standout moment of the event was the inspiring speech delivered by Dr. Poonam Mehta. She highlighted the significance of independence and the crucial role of youth in shaping a progressive and inclusive India. Her motivating words resonated with the students, urging them to uphold democratic values and make positive contributions to society. The Rovers and Rangers Unit played an instrumental role in organizing and managing the event, ensuring smooth coordination and active participation from all attendees. The celebration culminated with serving all participating units as a proud reminder of collective responsibilities as engaged and responsible citizens.

Scouts and Guides unit of LBS GC Saraswati Nagar celebrated the spirit of freedom and the courage of those who fought for our independence. We honored the sacrifices made by our ancestors and strove to uphold the values of liberty, justice, and unity. May this Independence Day inspire us to work towards a brighter and more prosperous future. Happy Independence Day. On this occasion we offered our collective efforts along with the head of the institution Dr. P.P Chauhan by planting trees in the Khauni forest range.
