Online registration for NEET-II from today PTI

NEW DELHI, MAY 26: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will start the process for online submission of applications for the second edition of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-II) from Thursday.

“The CBSE will start the process of online application for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-II (UG), 2016 from May 26 for admission in MBBS/BDS courses,” the board said on Wednesday evening.

Students can submit online application for the test on the official website www.aipmt.nic.in. The nationwide test will be held for admissions to the All India quota seats, private/ management/NRI quota seats in all private medical and dental colleges, or any other private or deemed university, it said.

The test will also be held for admissions to state government quota seats “where the government of the state concerned so opts,” it added.

The NEET-II will be held on July 24 as per the directives of the Supreme Court and the Ordinances promulgated by the Central government on May 24.

As per the directives of the Supreme Court, candidates who could not register in the All-India Pre Medical and Dental Test/NEET-I, held earlier this year, can apply NEET-II also, the CBSE said.

AIMPT candidates

Candidates who registered for the AIMPT, but did not appear in the nationwide test can also apply for NEET-II.

“Candidates who were registered in AIPMT-2016/NEET-I and had appeared, but have apprehension that they had not prepared well subject to submission of an undertaking to give up their candidature for NEET-I can apply in NEET-II,” it added.

The board said students can access the detailed information on the NEET-II including syllabus and eligibility criteria on website www.aipmt.nic.in.

Mehbooba allocates portfolios to the council of Ministers

JAMMU, APRIL 05: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba M***i has distributed the portfolios to her council of ministers who were sworn in along with her by Governor NN Vohra at Raj Bhawan.

BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh has been given the portfolio of Power Development, Housing and Urban Development.

Other BJP leaders, Chander Parkash Ganga got Industries and Commerce, Bali Bhagat Health and Medical Education, Lal Singh Forest, Ecology and Environment, Chering Dorjay Cooperatives, Sham Lal Choudhary Public Health Engineering, Irrigation and Flood control and Abdul Gani Kohli got Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries.

Sajjad Gani Lone of Peoples Conference got Social Welfare, ARI and Training from the BJP quota.

PDP leader Abdul Rehman Veeri was given the Public Works and Parliamentary Affairs portfolio.

Other PDP leaders, Ghulam Nabi Lone got Agriculture Production, Abdul Haq Khan Rural Development and Panchayati Raj and Law and Justice, Syed Basharat Ahmed Bukhari Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation.

Haseeb A Drabu of PDP got Finance, Culture and Labour and Employment, Chowdhay Zulfikar Ali, also of PDP, got Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution and Tribal Affairs, Naeem Akhtar Education and Imran Raza Ansari Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Service and Sports.

PDP leader Asiea Naqash, who was sworn in as Minister of State (MoS), got Housing and Urban Development, Social Welfare, Health and Medical Education, Farooq Ahmed Andrabi Haj and Auqaf (independent charge) PHE and Irrigation and Flood Control, Power Development and Industries and Commerce whereas Zahood Ahmed Mir got Forest, Ecology and Environment, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Cooperative and Fisheries.

Minister of States from BJP quota are: Sunil Kumar Sharma Science and Technology and Transport (Independent Charge), Revenue, Public Works (Roads and Buildings), Jammu Links News, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Agriculture Production, Youth Service and Sports.

Also Priya Sethi got Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks, while Ajay Nanda got Finance and Planning, Information Technology, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Tribal Affairs, Relief and Rehabilitation and Labour and employment.

All other departments including Home and Tourism and others which have not been assigned to any of the ministers has been kept by the Chief Minister Mehbooba M***i with herself.

Reliance Jio’s 4G plan; 75GB Data + 4500 min free calls for Rs 200 only

Reliance is ready to take a fresh start with its Reliance Jio. Reliance had launched it 4G LTE services, Reliance Jio, back in December only to its employees, as well as some Android powered smartphones, LYF series. Promises were also made about full rollout of services to customers by April 2016 and yes they are now inching closer to commercially launching its 4G LTE services in India.

Reliance Digital stores which already sell VoLTE-ready LYF branded smartphones is now ready to start shipping Reliance Jio 4G SIMs and Mi-Fi dongles. Reliance Jio will be readily offer SIM cards before April 1 to those who buy LYF smartphones, but after April 1, one will receive the SIM card on the same day or later.

The updated infrastructure at Reliance Digital stores also indicated that the equipment have been placed in order to quickly enroll the customers and hand out Jio sim cards and Wi-Fi devices. The machines will be able to scan the Identity Documents(IDs) and immediately finalize all formalities.
The staff already have received stocks of Jio SIM cards, but they have not been informed when the sales is to start

M***i Mohammad Sayeed passes away at AIIMS Delhi

NEW DELHI, JANUARY 07: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister M***i Mohammad Sayeed passed away at the AIIMS hospital in New Delhi earlier on Thursday. He was 79.

Sayeed was admitted to the hospital on December 24 with complaints of neck pain and fever. Over the last few days, doctors had put him on ventilator support after his condition deteriorated.

Sayeed was also the chief of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), part of the ruling alliance in Jammu and Kashmir.

He had taken over the reins of the state on March 1 last year after striking an alliance with the BJP. The December 2014 election results in Jammu and Kashmir had thrown up a fractured mandate with no party gaining a majority in the Assembly.

Decks are now being cleared for Mehbooba M***i, PDP president and Sayeed’s daughter, to take over the reins of the state.

Home Ministry seeks report on JK High Court order on Art 370

NEW DELHI, OCTOBER 13: The Home Ministry yesterday sought a report from the Jammu and Kashmir government on the state High Court's order that Article 370, which grants special status to the state, is beyond amendment, repeal or abrogation.In a communication, the Home Ministry sought a copy of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court order from the state government as early as possible, explaining the grounds in which the order was issued, official sources said.The state law department is expected to forward the copy of the High Court ruling to the central government.Jammu and Kashmir High Court has ruled that Article 370, has assumed place of permanence in the Constitution and the feature is beyond amendment, repeal or abrogation.The Court also said that Article 35A gives "protection" to existing laws in force in the State. "Article 370 though titled as 'Temporary Provision' and included in Para XXI titled 'Temporary, Transitional and Special Provisions' has assumed place of permanence in the Constitution," a division bench of justices Hasnain Masoodi and Janak Raj Kotwal ruled in a 60-page judgement."It is beyond amendment, repeal or abrogation, in as much as Constituent Assembly of the State before its dissolution did not recommend its Amendment or repeal," the bench ruled. M***i for Dewatering of Water-Logged Areas in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 22: With overnight rains lashing wide parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister M***i Mohammad Sayeed today ordered immediate dewatering of water-logged roads and residential areas in the valley.The Chief Minister asked the Roads and Buildings Department, the Irrigation and Flood Control Department, the Mechanical Engineering Department, UEED and Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) to immediately press into services the requisite men and machinery to ensure speedy dewatering of water-logged areas so that there is no disruption of traffic and public movement, an official spokesman said here.Sayeed asked the Irrigation and Flood Control Department to ensure round the clock vigil along the embankments of rivers and streams especially in the low-lying and vulnerable areas.Preventive measures should be taken in advance to ensure safety of life and property, the Chief Minister said.Sayeed said there should be no disruption of traffic movement due to water-logging of roads and the concerned authorities must ensure that the inter and intra-state traffic moves normally.He also called for immediate dewatering of Eidgahs and other open areas where congregational Eid prayers are to be offered on Eid-ul-Azha.The Chief Minister said all the concerned agencies should work in close coordination to ensure that people do not suffer any inconvenience because of water-logging and other related issues.Widespread rains lashed many parts of Kashmir today with Srinagar receiving 48 mm of rainfall during the day.High altitude areas also received light to moderate snowfall since last night.The MeT Office has predicted scattered rainfall in the Valley over the next 48 hours.
