📢 CIHCS at the Parliamentary Standing Committee Meeting:

​Today, April 21, 2026, CIHCS representatives Shri Aakash Shah, AAO, Dr. Kemo Padu, Asstt. Prof. & DSW and Shri Moge Bagra, PI attended the Parliamentary Standing Committee meeting in Itanagar. Chaired by Shri Digvijay Singh, the session addressed the low awareness of educational loans in Arunachal Pradesh.
​Key Directives:
​Enhanced Visibility: Banks must advertise schemes within schools and universities.
​Practical Access: Loan processes will be simplified for students.
​Collaboration: Institutions and lenders will work together to bridge information gaps.

With great reverence and honor, the Institute proudly organizes the 11th His Eminence 13th Tsona Gontse Rinpoche Memorial Lecture Series (2026) on 18th–19th March 2026. This significant academic gathering brings together esteemed scholars, faculty members, and students for enriching discussions and knowledge sharing.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to our respected Director, Dr. Gurmet Dorjey, for his guidance and leadership, along with the dedicated Administrative Officer shri. Aakash Shah, Dr. Kemo Padu DSW and organizing team for their tireless efforts in making this event possible.

Dr. Gurmet Dorjey, Director of the Central Institute of Himalayan Cultural Studies (CIHCS), met with Dr. Devanand Shukl, Deputy Director, Academic, Central Sanskrit University (CSU), Janakpuri, New Delhi, today at Dr. Shukl's office to address discrepancies within the current syllabi for Purva Madhyama to Acharya classes. A key discussion point involved the imperative for all educational institutions to align their course structures with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Given that CSU has already implemented NEP 2020, the implications for CIHCS's curriculum were thoroughly examined. Additionally, proposals for the introduction of at least three new degree courses were submitted, contingent upon approval from the Board of Studies, which is scheduled to convene during the second week of April 2026. This meeting was highly productive.
