Moot Court Competition Conducted Successfully
A Moot Court Competition for students was successfully conducted on May 14 and 15 at the School of Law, Madurai Campus, Ponnaiyah Ramajayam Institute of Science and Technology University, located near Arasanur in Sivagangai District.
The Chief Guest of the event was Mr. C. Arulvadivel Sekar, President of the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court Bar Association and Senior Advocate. In his special address, he emphasized the importance of court procedures, advocacy skills, and legal research for law students.
The competition was adjudicated by Mr. K. Baskaran, Former Assistant Director (Translation), Tamil Nadu Secretariat; Mr. Y. Jacob, Senior Advocate, Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court; Advocates Mr. R. Manibharathi, Mr. P. Vinodh Khanna, Mr. Raju, Mrs. T.A. Muthukumari, Ms. P. Rohini, Ms. I.P. Keerthana, and Mr. R. Yovan Manuel Raj, who evaluated the students’ advocacy and analytical skills.
The students of the School of Law enthusiastically participated in the competition and demonstrated commendable advocacy skills, legal research abilities, analytical reasoning, and courtroom etiquette.
The event was effectively organized by the Dean In-Charge, Faculty Coordinators and the office bearers of the Moot Court Society of the School of Law.
In the competition, third-year students of the five-year law programme — Nidarsana, Harini, and Varsha — secured the first prize, while Antlin Joe, Sudharsan, and Santro Pravin Raj won the second prize.
A total of 22 teams participated in the competition and showcased their talents.
