Dr.(Mrs) B. Subrahmanyeswari, Professor & University Head, Department of Veterinary & A.H. Extension Education, College of Veterinary Science, Garividi of Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Andhra Pradesh, India attended international conference on "Organic Animal Husbandry : A role model for the future of livestock?" at FiBL Switzerland (Research Institute on Organic Agriculture) during 28-30 April 2026 organised by the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) Animal Husbandry Alliance (IAHA 2026). The IFOAM Animal Husbandry Alliance (IAHA) is an informal global platform of individuals and organizations committed to strengthening organic animal husbandry. It was established during the 2nd IFOAM Animal Husbandry Conference in Hamburg in September 2012. Since then, IAHA has organized pre-conferences alongside the IFOAM Organic World Congresses in Istanbul (2014), Delhi (2017), and Rennes (2021).
Professor Subrahmanyeswari presented research paper entitled "Indigenous Cattle Farms towards Organic Production Potential : A SWOC Analysis in Andhra Pradesh, India" in the poster session. Also as a delegate of Asian countries presented the deliberations of the workshop on "Advancing Organic Animal Husbandry in Asia: Challenges & Opportunities" during the plenary session of the conference. Received financial funding from Fibl, The Research Institute on Organic Agriculture, Switzerland the organisers, to attend and present the paper. India had a notable presence during this IAHA 2026 with 12 participants from ICAR institutes, State Agricultural and Veterinary Universities, as well as retired scientists, practitioners, and farmers. They contributed insights on diverse aspects of animal husbandry within the framework of organic agriculture.

World Veterinary Day - 2026 was celebrated at College of Veterinary Science, Tirupati in collaboration with Growel Feeds. The meet-up went on with speeches by the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Dr. J. V. Ramana, Dean of Faculty Dr. R. V. Suresh Kumar, Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Vaikunta Rao, Associate Dean, Dr. Jagapathiramayya and guest techincal lectures by Dr. Srinivasulu, Retired Dean of Research and Dr. Ch. Harika.The programme was organised and initiated by Dr. K. Sudheer in collaboration with alumnus Dr. Ch. Harika, Product Manager, Growel Feeds who sponsored the event. An elocution competition was conducted for students and prizes were distributed for the top three students. Participation certificates and gifts sponsored by Growel Feeds were distributed to the students and faculty.

The Centre for Continuing Veterinary Education and Communication (CCVEC), Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati, has organized a Three-Day Certified Paid Entrepreneurial Skill Development Training on “Scientific Pig Farming” from 21st to 23rd April 2026. On this occasion, Dr. J. V. Ramana, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor (i/c), SVVU, Tirupati, attended the programme as the Chief guest, inaugurated it on 21st April 2026 at CCVEC, SVVU, Tirupati, and addressed the participants. Dr. B. Shobhamani, Director of Extension, SVVU, attended the programme as the Guest of Honour, and Dr. K. Sujatha, Coordinator, presided over the programme. In this programme, 20 participants from different districts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana attended. Dr. B. Shobhamani, DE, SVVU, Tirupati, participated in the valedictory programme as the chief guest and released the training manual and distributed certificates to the participants on 23.04.2026. A Free Screening Camp for Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Anemia was successfully organized at the College of Veterinary Science, Proddatur, by the NSS Unit in collaboration with Government Medical College, Kadapa, under the DBT-UMMID Project.The camp was inaugurated by the Associate Dean, Dr. G.R.K. Sharma. NSS Programme Officer Dr. D. Indira and a total of 121 participants attended the camp, including girl students (all years), women faculty, and outsourcing staff.

A three-day training programme on “Doubling the Farmers’ Income through Preparation and Marketing of Value-Added Meat Products” was successfully organized by Department of Livestock Products Technology, College of Veterinary Science, Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University (SVVU), Tirupati with full financial assistance of the ICAR-National Meat Research Institute, Hyderabad. Dr G. Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy, Head of the department briefed that, the participants were undergone rigorous hands on training on different value added meat products preparation like nuggets, patties, meat balls, pickle, enrobed eggs, sausages, cutlets, chicken samosa, chicken soup, chicken idlis and capsicum chicken etc., and their preservation, packaging and marketing methodologies, and economics involved and enhance their income. Dr B. Shobamani, Director of Extension and Dr P. Jagapatiramayya, Associate Dean, CVSc, Tirupati distributed certificates to the participants and also resource persons.
