Imagining Varanasi:A PLACE FOR THE DEAD, REVERED BY THE LIVING

Varanasi is one of the oldest habitat cities of the world and because of this perhaps, death is handled with maturity. This place is said to have a guaranteed passage to heaven itself and Manikarnika Ghat oversees more than 100 cremations everyday. One of the oldest city settlements for humanity has a sacred parish for the departed to rest in peace.
