UDALGURI COLLEGE came into existance on the 20th day of August,1979 as a result of the ceaseless and untiring efforts of the preparatory comittee under the secretaryship of Sri SAILENDRA NATH BRAHMA with a view to offering an oppurtunity to the economically backward people of this vast north eastern region of undivided Darrand District.The college was first started at the Boro Harimu Afat Bhavan,
Udalguri with 42 students in the Pre-University in the first year batch. The following year, the college was shifted to its permanent site at Purani Goroibari (Udalguri-Kharupetia Road) about 3kms away, towards southern side, from Udalguri Town. Apart from all these, Vocational course in Computer Science was also introduced from 2005-06 session offering a huge oppurtunity to the students in the field of Information Technology. It may be mentioned here that a Peer Team of NAAC assesed the functioning and achievments of the College and awarded C++ GRADE (68.25%MARKS) to it. Thus it is evident that over the years the college has achieved considerble success in all the spheres, and wedo hope that in near future a time will come when the people will recognize it as a premier educational institution in the area.
