. Not only this, but we have also introduced unique academic initiatives like ‘A Day with an Architect’ and ‘Interaction with Institutes’. We are the youngest Institute of Architecture in the country to host the NIASA 2014 Thesis Award Competition. We also keep encouraging research and documentation by publishing our students’ work in the form of a Yearbook and Research papers from scholars, practitioners and academicians in our Annual Research Journal AURA. Our Annual Festival ‘AAKAR’ provides us a platform for a series of Symposiums, workshops and open public forums on social issues. We are also engaged with societal concern projects as a part of our Social Responsibility. A vernacular study of a North Indian haveli in Makrana (Borawar), documented by Aksh*ta Jain (First year - Sem 02, P.I.A.R.). Anchored around a central courtyard (chowk), the spatial planning unfolds as a balanced interplay of light, ventilation, and intimacy reflecting an inward-looking architectural language.

A clear transition from public to private is articulated through a sequence of layered spaces, where the verandah functions as both a climatic moderator and a social threshold. Thick masonry walls and shaded edges reinforce passive environmental control.

An exploration of how tradition and climate inform timeless architectural responses.

Design Studio II / PIAR - Parul University encouraged students to translate abstract 2D explorations into three-dimensional spatial constructs. By working through POP subtractive models and planar corrugated assemblies, the exercise highlighted the interplay of solid, void, surface, and structure as key architectural generators.

🏛️ Archaeological Museum ✨

📍 Badami, India

Project by: Shubh Porwal
Mentor:
Guided by: .red.studio

Concept:
Conceived as a site-responsive intervention, the Archaeological Museum negotiates between terrain, memory, and contemporary architectural expression. Embedded within the rock-cut landscape of Badami, the design emerges as a stratified system of built and void where architecture dissolves into the terrain.

The project explores the dialogue between monolithic mass and carved spatial voids, creating an immersive sequence of movement. Circulation is envisioned as a continuous journey, weaving through courts, ramps, and layered platforms, framing views and intensifying spatial experience.

Design Approach:
The form evolves from the existing topography, extending and reinterpreting natural rock formations into inhabitable volumes. Structural systems, outer skin, and internal spatial networks operate as interdependent layers, generating a cohesive architectural language rooted in context.

The museum becomes a curated narrative where past and present converge, and architecture acts as a medium to experience history through space, light, and movement.

A step into practice and a journey of learning.

We are proud to share the internship journey of Khushi Kesharwani, a post graduation student in Interior Design, who is actively gaining hands-on experience in the field—bridging academic learning with professional practice.

During her internship , she has contributed to team coordination on larger projects and worked on preparing working drawings, construction details, and interior layouts using AutoCAD and SketchUp, aligning her skills with industry standards.

Engaging with real-world projects, she is developing a deeper understanding of detailing, design ex*****on, and the transformation of concepts into practical solutions. This experience marks a significant step in her professional growth as an interior designer.

We wish her continued success as she advances in her design journey. ✨
