SAIC is a student-run body of IIT (BHU) working under the Dean (Resource and Alumni Affairs) to enhance relations between students, Institute, & alumni.

SAIC, working on its motto Connect, Engage & Celebrate, aims to bring alumni back to Banaras and their alma mater and relive their good ol' days. The cell has been fuelling the Institute’s mission of providing top-quality education and investing in its future by bridging IIT (BHU), Varanasi, and its Alumni since 2015. am that facilitates full-credit courses taught by the alumni & the Mentorship program that provides multi-domain mentorship to students. We are delighted to share a proud milestone for the IIT (BHU) fraternity.One of our esteemed alumnus, Mr. Madhav Jha (CSE’08), Co-Founder & CTO of Emergent, has been instrumental in Emergent’s successful $70 Mn (₹637 Cr) Series B funding round led by Khosla Ventures and SoftBank, with support from Y Combinator, Lightspeed, and Prosus.
Founded in 2024, Emergent is redefining software development through its agentic AI-powered “vibe coding” platform, enabling users to build production-ready applications from simple text prompts without traditional coding.
With nearly $100 Mn raised in just seven months and an impressive $50 Mn ARR, Emergent stands among the fastest-growing AI startups globally.

From the halls of IIT (BHU) Varanasi to building a global venture from India — a journey of vision, perseverance, and impact.

We are delighted to share that our alumnus Mr. Siddharth Gupta, Co-founder of Atomgrid, has successfully raised a $7 Million Pre-Series A funding round for the company.

Founded with a clear vision to create a global organization from India in the specialty chemicals space, Atomgrid has been steadily carving its path in the industry. This milestone marks a significant step in the company’s growth journey and will enable Atomgrid to scale its global operations, make long-term investments in research and development, and strengthen its foundation for building a sustainable enterprise.
Such achievements stand as a testament to the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship fostered at IIT (BHU) Varanasi, inspiring current students and the larger alumni community alike.

We are pleased to present the November '25 edition of the official Alumni Newsletter, Alma Communiqué, prepared by the Office of the Dean (Resource & Alumni) and the Student Alumni Interaction Cell (SAIC), IIT (BHU), Varanasi.

The December edition highlights a month of meaningful engagements and milestones at IIT (BHU). The Institute hosted a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Education led by Shri Nitish Suri, underscoring continued national-level academic engagement. Strengthening industry collaboration, IIT (BHU) signed an MoU with CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited, and inaugurated the Vinod Ghai Centre for E-Waste Management and Recycling, advancing sustainability initiatives on campus.
Alumni connections were celebrated through the Golden Jubilee Reunion of the Batch of 1975–80, marking 50 years of shared legacy and enduring ties with the alma mater. The creative section features glimpses from the Kashi Tamil Sangamam, reflecting the rich cultural confluence and vibrant spirit of the Institute.

SAIC is pleased to announce the opening of registrations for the Student Alumni Mentorship Program 2026.

This initiative aims to foster meaningful connections between students and alumni through one-on-one mentorship, offering personalized guidance and valuable career insights. In the previous edition, more than 800 mentees engaged with over 200 mentors, reflecting the initiative's strong impact across diverse domains.

On the occasion of the 164th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Ji, we take a moment to honor a remarkable educationist and dedicated freedom fighter. His life was devoted to uplifting India socially, intellectually, and morally.

Mahamana's influence reaches far beyond establishing institutions; he tirelessly worked to strengthen our nation through education and public service, grounded in core Indian values. The establishment of Banaras Hindu University stands as one of the enduring expressions of his vision, reflecting his conviction that knowledge should serve both society and the nation.

We are pleased to present the November ’25 edition of the official Alumni Newsletter, Alma Communiqué, prepared by the Office of the Dean (Resource & Alumni) and the Student Alumni Interaction Cell (SAIC), IIT (BHU), Varanasi.
In this edition, we take you through a month marked by defining milestones and institutional progress at IIT (BHU). We revisit the successful hosting of the 14th IIT (BHU) Model United Nations, the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram, and the launch of the e-Golf Cart service enhancing campus accessibility. The issue also covers a major tripartite MoU advancing industry collaboration and innovation, and the Institute’s rise to 237th in the QS Asia Rankings.
SAIC successfully organized alumni-guided mock interviews and the Alumni Visiting Faculty (AVF) programme, strengthening alumni–student engagement through insightful interaction sessions. The Silver Jubilee Reunion of the Batch of 2000 stood out as a celebration of 25 years of shared legacy and enduring ties with the alma mater.
