The education and resources available at IMU Visakhapatnam is at par with the premier institutes of the country in the field of Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering.

Here students are provided with access to a library with exhaustive content on the subjects and international journal subscriptions, software at the forefront of application in ship design, among other facilities like wi-fi and laboratory setup both in campus and in collaboration with IIT KGP, NSTL and Andhra University. Combined with supportive teachers and visiting faculty, the student is prepared to face the industry or contribute through research.

Recruiters (as of now) include major public and private shipyards, classification societies, design offices and consultancies,etc. strictly within the domain of Naval Architecture.

The course is also promising in terms of higher study and research opportunities available, which a student may go forward with both in India or abroad.

The IMU Visakhapatnam Campus emerges from the confluence of the centrally established Indian Maritime University at Chennai, and India's premier ship design and maritime research institution, the National Ship Design and Research Centre (NSDRC).

Pioneered in the early 90`s by the Government of India to pilot and consolidate national domain knowledge with global vision, NSDRC has undertaken several milestone projects in the areas of Ship Design, Construction and Applied Research and continues to do so through it's research wing, the School of Maritime Design and Research.

Presently, the IMU Visakhapatnam Campus is located at the former NSDRC Office and residential complex on a 5 acre property located on the main road connecting Naval Base and Scindia junction (Hindustan Shipyard) on one side and HPCL and Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on the other side.

'IMU-Vizag 2015 Freshie Help Deck' hopes to serve as a bridge where the prospective students who want to know about the institution and are interested in joining can directly interact with the students who are already a part of the institution.

IMFORMATION REGARDING COUNSELLING, 2014

This year, the counselling for all the IMU Campuses will be carried out through online counselling portal. The link to the portal is provided below after the important points.

Important points to note:
- Online Form to be submitted by 24th July, 2014

- You need to pay Rs. 10,000 at the nearest SBI Branch by filling the challan (link provided below)

- Donot forget to scan the "University Copies" of the challan and keep the soft copies for future reference.

Good morning to all of you and specially the new admitted students in B.Tech and M.Tech. Today is your registration day and you will be doing your GRADUATION in Naval architecture and Ocean engineering. You are ready to commence your four/two years journey. Study for knowledge,improve your personality and develop an attitude which can make you a Leader, and not just a professional. You will be realizing that knowledge has always been your weapon,personality is your grace,and attitude your ornament. So college is the best place for their development as the QUANTITY time you are going to spend here must prove to be your QUALITY time too.

Make best friends here and enjoy the freedom but remember to set your limits.
