IIM Visakhapatnam and NeGD Advance Digital Transformation Leadership

The five-day capacity-building programme on “Managing Large Digital Transformative Projects” was organised by the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam in collaboration with the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.

Led by Programme Directors Prof. Srinivas Josyula and Prof. Abhishek Srivastava, the programme was held from 1-5 June 2026. It brought together 25 professionals from government departments and PSUs. The programme covered various aspects of digital transformation, project risk management, design thinking, digital governance, cybersecurity, digital public infrastructure, and emerging technologies.

The inaugural session featured Prof. D. V. L. N. Somayajulu, Director, National Institute of Technology Manipur. He spoke on evidence-based decision-making, analytics-driven governance, AI-led transformation, and cybersecurity in large-scale digital projects. He also highlighted government initiatives such as IndiaAI and Bodhan AI, while discussing the role of AI in education, ranging from examinations to accreditation and effective utilisation for productivity.

The programme concluded with case study presentations and a valedictory address by Prof. V. Venkata Rao, former faculty member at IIM Ahmedabad, who shared valuable insights from a user-centric perspective on IT projects, highlighting interface design, user expectations, process integration, and the importance of practical implementation.

As part of International Conclave on Green Economy (ICGE) 2026, IIM Visakhapatnam will host two engaging panel discussions featuring eminent academicians, policy experts, and industry leaders working at the intersection of sustainability, climate governance, technology, and public policy.

The panel discussion on “Digital Public Infrastructure for Climate Governance” will feature:

An evening of reconnecting, reminiscing, and celebrating the enduring spirit of IIM Visakhapatnam.

Held on 30th May 2026, V-Unite Mumbai 2026 brought together 80+ alumni from the PGP (MBA), Executive MBA (EMBA), and Executive Certificate Programs, creating a vibrant platform for meaningful conversations, professional networking, and strengthening lifelong bonds within the IIMV community.

The evening commenced with an insightful address by Prof. Happy Paul , who shared the Institute’s remarkable journey, recent achievements, growing industry impact, and the exciting vision ahead for IIM Visakhapatnam.

A special highlight of the event was the announcement of IIM Visakhapatnam’s upcoming 10-Year Celebration, a landmark milestone reflecting a decade of excellence, growth, and transformation. As part of this significant year, a series of V-Unite events will be hosted across alumni chapters worldwide, with Mumbai proudly serving as the first chapter meet of the celebration year.

The Alumni Committee also shared updates on upcoming initiatives and engagement opportunities, reinforcing the Institute’s commitment to fostering stronger alumni-student connections and creating meaningful avenues for collaboration. Interactive networking activities further enriched the evening, encouraging alumni across batches, programs, industries, and geographies to reconnect and build new relationships.

📍Campus Immersion | PGPMCI @ IIM Visakhapatnam

As a BGA-accredited institution with a five-year accreditation term and a member of AACSB, IIM Visakhapatnam continues to strengthen globally benchmarked management education through interdisciplinary learning and leadership development.

The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam inaugurated the Campus Immersion Module 2 of the Post-Graduate Program in Management for the Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, Institutions of National Importance (PGPMCI) Batch 2025-27.

The week-long immersion marks an important milestone for the cohort, as 51 participants who successfully completed the first year and earned a Diploma in Management have now opted to continue into the MBA phase of the programme.

Representing 22 states across India, with 31% women participants, the cohort reflects the programme’s growing national reach and diversity.

The inaugural session featured addresses by Prof. Prashant Premkumar Nair, Admissions Chair, and Prof. M. Shameem Jawed, Chairperson- PGPMCI, who highlighted the programme’s focus on blending foundational management learning with advanced case-based pedagogy and capstone simulations.

Chief Guest Prof. Raman Bedi, Dean (Academics), NIT Jalandhar, spoke about transforming engineering graduates into problem-solvers and innovators capable of creating meaningful impact through technology-driven solutions.

Students also shared their experiences, describing the programme as transformative and impactful. They reflected on how the learning environment at IIM Visakhapatnam had expanded their perspectives, strengthened their leadership abilities.

Amidst the renewed energy on campus, IIM Visakhapatnam continues to strengthen its global presence as a BGA-accredited institution for 5 years, joining only 7 other business schools in India with this distinction. The institute is also a member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)

📢Research Update | IIM Visakhapatnam

We are pleased to share that a research paper co-authored by Prof. Nandan Singh, a PhD graduate from the Institute and currently serving as faculty at FORE School of Management, along with Prof. Milan Kumar, titled “Emerging Electric Vehicle Charging Market: Analyzing the Impact of Firm Pricing, Charging Speed, Consumer Preferences, and Power Tariff Subsidy” has been published in IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management (ABDC: A).

The study develops a Stackelberg framework in which the government acts as the leader maximizing social welfare, while Charging Service Providers act as followers maximizing profits under-pricing and service constraints. The findings offer actionable insights for designing coordinated subsidy and pricing strategies to support sustainable EV charging ecosystems.

A one-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management for Executives (PGDMEx), designed for working professionals navigating today’s evolving business landscape, was launched at IIM Visakhapatnam, marking the inauguration of the first batch of the programme.

The inaugural cohort comprises 77 participants with an average of 13+ years of work experience and an average age of 34 years, representing diverse sectors and professional backgrounds. The programme follows a blended learning format with weekend online sessions and a three-day campus immersion.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri Dr. Pudi Hariprasad, IRAS, Principal Financial Advisor, South Coast Railway, Government of India, as the Chief Guest. He spoke on leadership, self-management, emotional intelligence, and leadership transformation.

The ceremony began with a welcome by Prof. Prashant Premkumar Nair, Admissions Chair, who highlighted how the programme combines academic rigour with professional insight for working executives. The programme is led by Prof. Amit Shankar, Programme Chair. The PGDMEx is delivered through a blended learning format, combining interactive online sessions over the weekends with campus immersions, allowing professionals to balance work and study effectively.

Shri Manvender Singh, CEO, Accredian, encouraged participants to develop strategic perspectives, identify blind spots, and transform ideas into opportunities with confidence. Prof. M. Chandrasekhar, Director, IIM Visakhapatnam, emphasized the importance of judgment and decision-making in the age of Artificial Intelligence.
