The third ZeLIG School for Documentary, Television and New Media graduation film at Cinemambiente Torino is TORNERANNO I LUPI (The Wolves Will Return).

On an old road in Piedmont, three generations of women face the same wound: "In our family, we've all been disappointed by love." Director Bianca, her mother and grandmother summon an ancient legend of sea, men and wolves to understand what seems doomed to repeat itself in their family.

After premiering at Visions du Réel , competing at ZagrebDox and winning Best Film in the Gabbiano section at Bellaria Film Festival , the film now comes home to Torino.

Congratulations to director Bianca Vallino, cinematographer Esther Kreiner, editor Elisa Gabbai, and our members Stefano Bernardi and Matilde Ramini for Sound Design and Mix.

Our member Andreas Pichler's ELON MUSK UNVEILED — The Tesla Experiment is continuing its screening tour, touching down at three major documentary festivals across three continents.

First stop: Encounters South African International Documentary Festival — Africa's premier documentary festival, running June 4–14, 2026 in Cape Town and Johannesburg — with two screenings on June 5 and 12.

Then to the UK for Sheffield DocFest , the 33rd edition of which runs June 10–15, 2026 in Sheffield, with two screenings on June 10 and 12.

And later in the month, at Dokville in Stuttgart on June 18 — the annual industry gathering organised by the Haus des Dokumentarfilms , this year under the theme "Democracy Under Pressure — Is Our Civil Society at the End?" — a fitting context for a film about one of the most influential and polarising figures shaping democracy today.

What a strong festival run!

Synopsis:
Pozzuoli lies at the center of the crater of the Phlegraean Fields, where the earth breathes rising and falling in a continuous cycle. Here, where the boundary between the world of the living and that of the underworld has opened many times, the earth with its vapors and fumes, holds ancient mysteries and a latent energy, about to awaken.

May is almost over — and we're closing this month's Showcase with a throwback!

Because we don't only highlight finished films — we love celebrating work that's still finding its shape and starts to grow.

Our members Ekin Çalışır and Georg Zeller are Co-Producers of the immersive project LISTEN!, which was pitched earlier this month, on May 2nd, at the Camp4Science pitch at the Academia Film Olomouc , in Czech Republic.

"Listen!" is an immersive audio-visual journey into the impact of sound on humans. From the loudest to the most silent places on earth, it explores how we perceive, reflect, adapt and react to sound — and how sound can be used as a weapon of control.

Nr.74 Senza Nome, the short film produced by our members from , which premiered at the last year, is traveling again. On May 15, the film will be screened at the in Bergamo, and on May 29 follows a screening in Bisaquino/Sicily at the .

This short road movie by Davide Grotta, filmed in a documentaristic style and aesthetic, blurs the line between reality and poetic imagination. As Mane journeys across Italy’s contrasting landscapes, his steps echo the many who risk their lives crossing the Mediterranean in search of refuge. The film calls attention to the over 30,000 lives lost in these crossings over the last 15 years, most buried in anonymity.
Through Mane’s odyssey, the film becomes an act of collective remembrance, exploring the weight of loss, the search for identity, and the unresolved grief that ties the living to the dead. The nameless cemetery by the sea stands as a poignant symbol, where giving a name becomes an act of healing and acknowledgment for all who have been forgotten.
