SEMM is currently running the following educational programs:
- PhD in System Medicine with its four interdisciplinary curricula:
- Molecular Oncology
- Human Genetics
- Computational Biology
- Medical Humanities

The PhD Program aims to train young and motivated researchers in the wide field of modern Biomedicine. The characterizing traits of the SEMM educational programs are their strong

interdisciplinary traits, the international dimension and the training platform based on the development of technical skills through intensive laboratory work and on the acquisition of new theoretical tools through specifically designed courses. SEMM
Collaborates with two Italian Universities, University of Milan and University of Naples to create its training programmes
*operates within research centers of excellence bridging together higher education and front-line research training. In particular it operates in conjunction with four major Research Centers in Milan and 2 in Naples: IEO (Istituto Europeo di Oncologia), IFOM (Istituto FIRC di Oncologia Molecolare), IIT (Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia), INGM (Istituto Nazionale di Genetica Medica), HT (Human Technopole) TIGEM (Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine) and Ceinge (Centro di Ingegneria Genetica). These Excellent Research Centers operate in all the major scientific areas such as: Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Structural Biology, Immunology, Systems Biology, BioInformatics, Neurobiology, Developmental Biology, Inflammation, Tumor Biology, Molecular Pathology, Human Genetics etc. Moreover the IEO is also a comprehensive cancer centre where students interested in the translational aspects of research may be integrated.
