“lugar a dudas is an organisation founded in Cali, Colombia, by Oscar Muñoz and Sally Mizrachi. Since 2005, it has implemented various art and education programmes, and its very operation has served as a school for local artists of different generations. [...] Our participation in the Biennale Arte 2026 stems from an artist school format that we are running in Cali during 2026, in which everything happens through body movement. In this manner, we seek a format that gives continuity to lugar a dudas’s purpose: to learn and produce through subversion, play, and questioning.”

F**g Ahmed’s THE ATTENTION confronts a contemporary dilemma: how to find meaning amid the chaos of global information overload? By reconceptualising the medieval poetry of the mystic Nasimi (d. c. 1418/19), Ahmed mobilises cultural heritage to propose internal contemplation as a salve to society’s turbulence. Through successive installations that transition from material form to quantum process, Ahmed weaves poetry, science and perception into a unified experiential fabric.

“PARFUMERIE takes its name from a nocturnal revolution in Zurich in the late 1980s and early 1990s when a band of collaborators – artists, DJs, and performers – sought to carve out an open space for collective joy in a city shaped by social frictions and stringent noise laws. [...] PARFUMERIE’s nights embraced the glorious chaos of spontaneous social organisation (many of its participants were students or white‐collar workers by day, moonlighting as musicians, DJs, drag performers and barkeeps). They made liminal zones of spaces that company closures and gaps in lease handovers temporarily freed. Koyo Kouoh, who sporadically worked the bar alongside a 9‐to‐5 job in the financial sector, understood PARFUMERIE as a space in which to rehearse the possibilities of an artist‐led institution.”

The archetype of the forest undergrowth is mysterious and unexplored, symbolising the unconscious – the unknown and mysterious part of the mind where everything of which human beings are unaware resides. Yet, the unconscious is also the locus of dialogue between the visible and the invisible. The forest inspires Modest Gené, Fernando Nguema and the guest artists as a sacred place for spiritual growth. THE FOREST THE UNDERGROWTH tributes the subtle and invisible bond between humanity and nature, between the body and the cosmos. It is the place of wisdom where it is possible to learn and rediscover oneself.

“‘What would be the beginning of your film?’ asks Natalia Lassalle‐Morillo, addressing her most enduring creative collaborator: her mother, Gloria María Morillo. RETIRO (2015‐2019) is a three‐channel video that revisits her mother’s memories through interviews, behind‐the‐scenes material, and re‐enactments embodied by the artist herself. Lassalle‐Morillo trained as an actor before turning to documentary and video installation; her work is shaped by the recognition that performance naturally arises when a camera enters an intimate space. [...] Her project originates in mourning but unfolds into something closer to pre‐emptive grief. RETIRO proposes a blueprint to address generational pain and create something new, so full of love and tenderness that it will be our inheritance instead.”
