How does our brain construct the sense of “self”? In what ways do bodily sensations influence our cognition and mental health? Jenkinson explores the intricate relationship between body and mind, investigating how the integration of sensory information shapes our perception of reality.

Innovation in Viticulture and Enology: Research Experiences from Eszterházy Károly Katolikus Egyetem (Hungary), partner of the European Alliance EU-GIFT /

Università degli Studi di Verona will host, from 18 to 22 May, a delegation of professors and researchers from Eszterházy Károly Catholic University as part of the activities promoted by the European alliance EU-GIFT.

The visit represents an important opportunity for international exchange on topics related to viticulture, enology, sustainability, and innovation applied to the agri-food sector.

The activities will mainly take place at Villa Lebrecht, home of Dipartimento di Biotecnologie - Università di Verona, and will include meetings with professors, researchers, and students involved in fields such as viticulture, climate change management, and the development of new international educational pathways, including the master’s programmes promoted by EU-GIFT.

Among the scheduled events, on Tuesday, 19 May at 2:30 p.m., a technical seminar entitled “Innovation in Grape and Wine Science: Ongoing Research Activities at Eszterházy Károly Catholic University (ECKU) of Eger (Hungary)” will take place at Villa Eugenia.

He will host and supervise any project dealing with the figure and thought of Socrates, his historical context, and the sources of evidence concerning him. Specifically, he welcomes projects related to reactions to Socrates, positive and negative, the first generation of the Socratic movement, and the history of the reception of Socrates from Antiquity to the present Age.

Specifically, I welcome projects related to 1) the role and function of ekphrasis in antiquity (from Homer to early Byzantine authors); 2) its reference to rhetoric and the history of art, especially in Antiquity and the Renaissance; 3) its reference to the contemporary debate on the “pictorial turn”.

Research will focus on the relationship between justice, motherhood and female madness in the nineteenth century. In particular, I am studying women accused of infanticide, whose sentences were often commuted because, according to the medical understanding of the time, pregnancy and childbirth caused a temporary state of madness.

From April 26th to April 30th the University of Verona hosted the “EU-GIFT Sport Week,” an initiative promoted within the framework of the European project EU-GIFT.
