“Ḍayye3 qameeṣak wala tḍayye3 khameesak” (ضيّع قميصك ولا تضيع خميسك)

This Jordanian proverb means: “Lose your shirt, but don’t miss your Thursday!” 😂

In Jordan, Thursday is traditionally the start of the weekend, so it’s a day people look forward to for going out, meeting friends, and having fun.

The saying basically means that some things are worth sacrificing for, but never sacrifice your Thursday plans! Even if you lose something valuable, don’t let anything ruin your weekend. 🤣
It’s a funny way of saying: “Whatever happens, don’t mess with my weekend!” #خميس #عربي

“Dabber 7alak” (دبّر حالك) 😂

A very common Jordanian expression that means “Figure it out yourself!” or “You’re on your own!”

We use it when someone asks for help, and we basically tell them to find their own solution. 😅

Example:
“Can you help me fix this?”
“Dabber 7alak!” 😂
