📍 CEO Ted Kawamura Visits Sharp Hiroshima
On May 20, CEO Ted Kawamura visited Sharp Hiroshima to hold a town hall meeting with around 240 employees. 🤝
He spoke face to face about his experiences, values, and Sharp’s future direction, emphasizing that the company is moving into a new phase of regrowth—from “defense” to “offense.” 🚀
Ted highlighted new business opportunities in AI, EVs, energy, and satellite communications, and shared expectations for creating new value by connecting AI with existing businesses from a “BtoH” (Business to Human) perspective—staying close to people throughout the day, at home and at work. 🏠💼
Mitsuru Tokuyama, Executive Officer and CTO (Chief Technical Officer) also joined the session, sharing expectations for the Hiroshima Site’s strong technological capabilities and the importance of turning technology into business growth. 💡
Following, Ted held a meeting session with newly appointed managers and encouraged them to make the most of their team members’ strength and take on their responsibilities.

Poketomo is coming to Taiwan! 🤖✨
Sharp will launch Poketomo, a Conversational AI character, in Taiwan on July 1 — its first launch outside Japan. Supporting Traditional Chinese, Poketomo connects through both a palm-sized robot and smartphone app. 🌈📱
