【Warm Greetings from the Team GiFT2016!】
GiFT, the live-broadcasting discussion event for world high school and college students, is done last night. Thank you so much for everyone who participated and supported us in GiFT2016.

If you missed the live broadcast or if you want to feel the enthusiasm of the discussion again, you can watch the video on YouTube. It was quite interesting to find out many cultural differences in people's actions and ways of thinking to manage garbage issues and to respond to the global warming as well. http://y2u.be/XfvoOygFq0M

Key questions for the live discussion!
Here are the key questions for GiFT2016 on Nov 27. We are all looking forward to hearing your opinions in the discussion!

Theme 1: How can we reduce our garbage?
Q.1 What is the reason behind separating garbage into each category?
Q.2 Is garbage segregation done in your country or city?
Q.3 What can we do to reduce our garbage?

Theme 2:
Q.1 What kind of environmental changes could be linked to global warming?
Q.2 How can we adapt to global warming?
Q.3 How can we reduce global warming?

By the way, does your country/region/city have any regulations to separate garbage? The picture below is the brief guidance of garbage separation which is on the wall of student activity lounge in Hokkaido University.

On the website of Sapporo city, which is the capital city of Hokkaido, you can see detailed rules of garbage separation here. They even have app for garbage separation guideline!

Please let us introduce one of the last Tour participants, Benneth Esiana. Here is the message from him!

We got a message from another participant student of Hokkaido University Experience Tour! Thank you, Ben. Please check what selected students can do in the Tour from his message.

Hello!

Greetings from a very cold Scotland! I am Benneth Esiana an alumnus of the University of Stirling, UK. I had the opportunity to participate in the Hokkaido University Experience Tour 2015.
My visit to Japan last summer was my first visit to the country. I had great expectations for the country in terms of hospitality, food, technology, research activity, output, etc. and I am delighted to report that I was not disappointed.

During the tour, I visited many research facilities relevant to my academic discipline as well as engaged in several discussions with leading researchers across schools and departments in Hokkaido University. I came away with much admiration for the number of high-level research and collaborative work taking place in the University.

I had also the opportunity to experience the culture and food. I found the Japanese language class quite useful as I was able to pick up a few relevant words and phrases which came in handy when I attempted to communicate with the local people ^_^.

This programme provides the ideal setting for one to visit Japan in order to experience the country (people, language, culture, education and much more). Would I visit again? Off course!

I would like to encourage all potential candidates to participate in GIFT_2017 and seize the opportunity to have a very rewarding and memorable trip.
My very best wishes!
