From 3rd to 5th of Nov.
We are organinzing student-led conference SCOL2019.
51 attendees from 9universities with various nationalities gather in Osaka.
Today we have opening remark and ice-breaking banquet.
We hope participants got to feel relaxed through casual conversation.
We're sure it makes program from tomorrow more active.

We just started new student chapter projects, called Student Chapter Webinar.

By taking advantages of Internet, we can connect our peers, colleagues anytime, anywhere.

This is the first joint chapter officer meeting.

We are ready for JSCM2018!!

Looking forward to seeing all of participants !!
We started to work on this project last year and now we have only 20 days, which makes us nervous.
This conference is a student-led meeting for OSA, SPIE, and JSAP student chapter members and aimed to build up strong student networks among them.
We are very happy that 60 students from 15 different student chapters in Japan participate our meeting.
We have great invited speakers, and prepare interesting events, so that you will definitely enjoy the conference!!
We can't wait to see all of you.

JSC Meeting is a network-meeting organized by student chapters in Osaka University, OSA, SPIE, and JSAP student chapter. Nowadays, many student chapters have been established in many countries, and have actively done a lot of activities, such as student-organized conference, outreach, large collabor...

OSA Osaka Student Chapter had a special speaker, Dr. Howard Lee by taking the advantage of OSA ambassador and he gave us very interesting talk about his own research and professional development.
We discussed about his research, our career through OSA, and OSA Student Chapter, etc.
We are thankful to Howard for visiting our chapter.

Some of the members in our chapter visited Sysmex, which is one of the greatest companies related to optics in Japan. This is the activity of JSAP SC. We had lab tour and discussion with researchers in Sysmex, which gave us new aspect of industry. This was the great opportunity to imagine our future career. We appreciated them to arrange such a nice chance.

We had an educational outreach event, which is science school for kids in Ryokuti-Kouen.
Thank you kids !!

5月19日にレジオンスクエア緑地公園にて、出張子供科学教室2018を開催しました。小学生を対象とした科学教室で、光についての実験・講義を行いました。教科書には書いていない少し発展的な内容の科学を面白く・分かりやすく伝えることで、子供達が科学の面白さを理解し、さらに興味を持ってくれることを期待しています。
