Moi University Eldoret Kenya - Foundation of Knowledge Second Largest Public University in Kenya,East Africa Moi University is located in Eldoret, 310 kilometers northwest of Nairobi, the Capital City of Kenya.

It was established as the second university in Kenya by an Act of Parliament, the Moi University Act of 1984. The first cohort of 83 students was admitted in 1984 through a transfer from the Department of Forestry, University of Nairobi. Since then, the University has experienced phenomenal growth from its initial one faculty in 1984, to a total of fourteen (14) Schools . The University currently

operates three (3) campuses, namely: Main, Annex, and College of Health Sciences (Town Campus). The university has Two (2) Satellite Campuses, (Nairobi & Coast).

Moi University Professors Participate in the Launch of Intra-Africa Mobility Project in Brussels.

A team from Moi University attended a four-day workshop at the EU headquarters in Brussels
(14–17 April 2026) marking the launch of the 2025–2029 Intra-Africa Mobility Project.
The event brought together representatives from 43 African and 17 European universities,
including several Kenyan institutions.

Led by Prof. Eng. Augustine Makokha(Dean School of Engineering) and Dr. Rose Ramkat (Dean, School of Science and Aerospace Studies), the Moi University delegation
highlighted the institution’s commitment to global partnerships.

Through the project, the university will host 32 international Master’s and PhD students across various disciplines.

The initiative aims to boost academic exchange, research collaboration, and capacity building in
Africa, while enhancing Moi University’s international visibility and ranking.
