Data collection is the way of assembling and estimating data on targeted factors in an established and methodical design, which at that point empowers one to answer applicable inquiries, assess results and make important decisions post data processing and analysis.

Data collection is an avenue of research in all fields of education including social and physical sciences, business and humanities. While strategies differ widely, the significance of guaranteeing precision and accuracy of information continues as before. The primary objective of data collection is to capture quality data that brokers room for analysis and sound decision making.

Data collection is highly integral to the integrity and significance of research work. A data collection system is an application of computation that aids the process of collection of data permitting exclusive and structured data to be assembled in a methodical fashion that enables data processing and analysis to be performed and facilitates decision making.

The data collection system accepts data from the user and authorizes it before committing them to databases for storage.

The Economics and Statistics Students Association Mmust- ESSA organized for a training on data collection using two simple but powerful data collection products that offer distinct features to cover different end-users needs i.e using open data kit and google forms.

We meet meet with all members, explain strategic plans and decisions. We focus on strengths and successes but it's important that we also share our challenges as an association.

Shalom,
I take this opportunity to thank each and everyone for the support. You enabled ESSA MMUST participate in East Africa economic symposium held on 9th March 2022 at Kenyatta university main campus.

Out of 25 universities who submitted their report on the theme of discussion, we managed position 6. Although not all appeared on podium for physical presentation.

ESSA MMUST being among the 11 campuses presenting in presence of the CBK Governor,Dr.Patrick Njoroge and the CEO safaricom,Mr Peter Ndegwa, we still managed to be position 6.

The CBK Governor and the CEO safaricom after the presentations promised to partner with Kenya Economics and Statistics Association (KESA) to create links to business students through KESA in their companies for internship and job opportunities for graduates .

I therefore take this chance to appreciate all students who gave me easy work at Kenyatta university and urge all SOBE students and other students from different schools in MMUST to join ESSA because more is set to come.
