Day 2 of the 𝗡𝘆𝗲𝗿𝗶 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗦𝗞 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄 was in full swing, with The Co-operative University of Kenya hosting attendees from different levels and stakeholders at its exhibition stand at the 4-day event!

On Day 1 of the 𝗡𝘆𝗲𝗿𝗶 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗮 (𝗔𝗦𝗞) 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄, we met with 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗠𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶, our alumnus who earned a 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼-𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 (𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻) and now works as a Co-operative Officer II in Nyeri County. At the ongoing first-years' orientation, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐛𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐞 𝐎𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐚, representing the Director of the Institute of Open and Distance Learning (IODeL), walked our new students through the E-Masomo platform, equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to access online learning resources and make the most of their academic journey.

From accessing learning materials to navigating digital learning spaces, our students are getting ready to learn, connect, and thrive in an increasingly digital academic environment.

Representing the Head of the Corporate Communication and Marketing (CC&M) Department, Meshack M. Ngangi inducted and oriented first-year students on complaints and compliments handling, as well as the Access to Information Act of 2016. The session highlighted effective communication, informed engagement, and appropriate feedback channels. Meshack M. Ngangi advised the new students at The Co-operative University of Kenya to communicate responsibly, seek accurate information, and actively contribute to a more responsive and inclusive University community.

𝗠𝗿. 𝗡𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗟𝘄𝗶𝗸𝗶 represented the Registrar (Finance, Planning and Administration) at Day 3 of the new students' orientation at The Co-operative University of Kenya and guided students on responsible utilisation and stewardship of University resources. The session emphasised accountability, responsible conduct, and understanding institutional processes that support an effective learning environment. 𝗠𝗿. 𝗟𝘄𝗶𝗸𝗶 urged students to play their part in protecting and wisely using University facilities.

As part of our first-year student orientation, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗮𝗵 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗿𝗮, the Chief Security Officer and Head of the Security Department at The Co-operative University of Kenya, sensitised students on personal safety, security awareness, and practical measures for safeguarding themselves and the University community. The session encouraged responsible conduct, vigilance, and prompt reporting of security concerns. 𝗠𝗿. 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗿𝗮 urged the learners to stay alert, stay informed, and contribute to a safe campus environment.

She highlighted the essence of embracing technology, staying informed, and making the most of the institution's ICT resources.

The Student Finance Office was represented by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘀 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮, who took the new students through an orientation session on government funding, finance registration, e-payment of the tuition fees, and the fee payment policy.

Speaking on fees, payment procedures, financial statements, and related services, Mr. Muthinga insisted on the need for students to understand their financial responsibilities, meet payment deadlines, and seek clarification whenever needed for a smooth academic experience.
