Re:Request for Consideration of Nairobi University Students in Bobasi Constituency Bursary Programme

Dear Hon. Obiri,

I am writing to you today as the Secretary General of the Bobasi University and Colleges Students Association (BUCSA) to respectfully request your urgent consideration of students from Nairobi University who are residents and voters of Bobasi Constituency, regarding the ongoing bursary application process.

As we know, the bursary application window opened on 13th January 2025 and is scheduled to close on 24th January 2025. A critical requirement for application completion is the stamping of forms by the Finance Department and Dean of Students at our Universities.Unfortunately, a devastating fire incident at Nairobi University yesterday has resulted in the temporary closure of these essential offices and we don't know when servicesshall resume, rendering it impossible for our students in Nairobi University to get it done. These students are constituents of Bobasi and desperately need the financial assistance this bursary program provides.

We kindly request that you consider extending the deadline for them or implement an alternative arrangement for Nairobi University students to submit their stamped applications from alternative verifiable sources. We believe that many deserving students from our constituency will be unfairly disadvantaged if this matter is not addressed promptly.

**NOTICE: Bobasi Constituency Bursary Application**

Following our collective efforts in advocating for improvements to the Bursary Application and Disbursement Program, we are pleased to announce that application forms are now available. By the grace of Hon. Innocent Obiri, MP, application forms will be distributed from all CDF offices starting Monday, January 13th, 2025 and they must be submitted back before or by date 24th January 2025.

This is a significant step towards ensuring that deserving students receive the financial assistance they need to pursue their education. We urge all eligible students to promptly collect their application forms and submit them within the stipulated timeframe. Late submissions will unfortunately not be considered. Detailed information regarding eligibility criteria, required documentation, and deadlines will be available at each CDF office. We strongly encourage you to visit your local CDF office to obtain this critical information immediately.

We would also like to remind Hon. Obiri and the CDF offices of the pressing need for timely disbursement of funds once the applications have been processed. Delays in disbursement significantly impact students' academic progress and create undue financial hardship. We, therefore, request a commitment to a streamlined and expedited disbursement process, ensuring that successful applicants receive their bursaries as quickly as possible. Transparent communication regarding the disbursement schedule will greatly alleviate student anxieties.

Dear Fellow Students,

RE: URGENT NOTICE ON DELAYED BURSARY APPLICATIONS

I hope this message finds you well and in good health. As your Secretary General, I am committed to advocating for the rights and welfare of all Bobasi university and college students.

I write to inform you of a matter of great concern: the delay in the disbursement and application process for bursaries from our Member of Parliament, Hon. Innocent Obiri, for the financial year 2024/2025. These bursaries are critical for many of us as they ease the financial burdens associated with our education. Unfortunately, with semester examinations fast approaching, the delay threatens to destabilize the plans of numerous students who depend on this financial support.

As stakeholders in this matter, it is our collective responsibility to demand accountability and timely action. I hereby call upon all students to join hands in mobilizing efforts to have our concerns addressed urgently. We must remind our leaders that education is our fundamental right, and any hindrance to it cannot be tolerated.
