Hello everyone, hope you're all doing well. I am writing this post to inform you that after a short break, I am glad that this Association is back for engagement.
We welcome all students in tertiary institutions all over Kenya and the world at large whose primary home is Trans-Nzoia county to be part of us.Let's all make this forum an interactive platform and engage new ideas.

The Kijana Wamalwa Teaching and Referral Hospital (KWTRH) has become a crucial health facility in Trans-Nzoia County, particularly through its establishment of an oxygen manufacturing and refilling plant. This facility bolsters the county’s self-reliance in healthcare, providing vital oxygen supplies not only for Trans-Nzoia but also supporting health facilities across North Rift and parts of Western Kenya.

By supplying oxygen locally, KWTRH ensures that patients requiring life-saving interventions have a reliable oxygen source, significantly reducing risks related to shortages. This initiative aligns with Governor George Natembeya's commitment to enhancing health services to meet the needs of the growing population in Trans-Nzoia County.

The reception and emergency wing, characterized by a constant flurry of activity, epitomize the hospital’s unwavering commitment to preserving life. Medical personnel, driven by an ethos of service and excellence, work assiduously to provide timely and life-saving interventions, reinforcing the hospital’s role as a sanctuary of health and hope for the people of Trans Nzoia County and the surrounding regions.

During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, King Leopold II of Belgium ruled over the Congo Free State as his personal colony. Under his exploitative regime, the Congolese people suffered immensely. King Leopold's primary motive was to extract as much wealth as possible from the Congo, particularly through the production of rubber.

To enforce his control and maximize profits, King Leopold imposed a reign of terror on the Congolese population. This photo mentioned captures a grim aspect of the brutality. Congolese individuals who failed to meet the demanding rubber production quotas set by the Belgian administration were subjected to severe punishment.

Thousands of Congolese were subjected to executions, including public hangings, or had their hands amputated as a means of punishment. These cruel acts were carried out as a deterrent and as a means of maintaining control over the local population. The atrocities committed during this period have been well-documented and are considered one of the darkest chapters in colonial history.

In the photo, a child victim of these Belgian atrocities in the Congo is depicted alongside a missionary. Missionaries played a complex role during this time, as some were complicit in the exploitative system, while others may have provided some level of humanitarian assistance. The image serves as a haunting reminder of the profound suffering endured by the Congolese people under King Leopold's oppressive regime.
