Kirinyaga University Kirinyaga University is located approximately 115 Km North East of Nairobi on Sagana - Embu - Highwa

Kirinyaga University was granted charter by His Excellency Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta the President of the republic of Kenya on 7th October 2016 with thirteen academic degree programmes, and has since increased the number of academic degree programmes to seventeen (17). The University is positioning itself to be a leader in offering courses geared towards producing employers and not employees in areas outlined by the Vision 2030.

Kirinyaga University staff came together on May 29, 2026, for the annual Staff Sports Day held at the University grounds themed "Beyond the Office Desks: Championing Wellness and Connecting Through Sports". The event brought staff members together in a vibrant celebration of wellness, teamwork, and camaraderie through sporting activities such as athletics, football, volleyball, netball, and team building.

The day was filled with friendly competition, dance, fun activities, and memorable moments as staff stepped away from their office desks to relax, connect, and embrace the spirit of sports and wellness.

The event, organized by the Human Resources Office in collaboration with the Sports Office, was graced by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (ARSA), Prof. Charles Omwandho, and the Registrar (ARSA), Mr. Wallace Kamau. The day culminated in the awarding of medals and trophies to outstanding performers, marking the success of yet another memorable Staff Sports Day.

If you are yet to secure a course through KUCCPS, please take note of the following important information:
✅ The deadline for Degree Programme applications and revisions is 1st June 2026, while TVET applications will remain open until 8th June 2026.
✅ Placement results are expected to be released by July 2026.
✅ Applications are open to KCSE candidates from the year 2000 onwards.
✅ Candidates who attained a C+ grade in the 2023 or 2024 KCSE examinations and have not secured placement may contact KUCCPS for guidance on manual placement options.
