Breaking barriers in male-dominated industries requires more than technical training — it requires visibility, mentorship, community, and real human connection.
Today, we hosted an inspiring community-engaged learning session where experienced female professionals from sectors such as plumbing & pipe fitting and electrical installation walked the journey with our female trainees, sharing honest conversations about career growth, workplace realities, resilience, and how to successfully navigate industries where women are still underrepresented.
What stood out most was the power of representation. When young women see other women thriving in spaces they aspire to enter, possibility becomes tangible. Each trainee was matched with a mentor who will continue supporting them beyond the classroom through career guidance, review of their career plans, and ongoing mentorship as they transition into the world of work.
This is what true workforce development looks like — not just skills training, but building ecosystems of support, confidence, belonging, and opportunity. Because sustainable employability is created when technical competencies are combined with mentorship, networks, and the courage to challenge stereotypes.
