MMU Vice Chancellor Prof. Rosebella Maranga has urged newly admitted first year students to make the most of their university time by pursuing academic excellence, embracing innovation and discipline.
Speaking during Matriculation Ceremony, Prof. Maranga challenged the students to view university education as more than attending classes and sitting examinations, urging them to use their time at MMU to develop critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving abilities and a sense of discipline and responsibility to society.
Prof. Maranga noted that rapid technological developments, including artificial intelligence, automation, big data, biotechnology and digital connectivity, are transforming industries and the job market, and therefore calls for ability to continuously learn, adapt to change, think critically and act ethically.
