Kaimosi Friends University is proudly represented at the inaugural Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) Conference in Nairobi by Prof. Kelvin Omieno (Dean, School of Computing and Information Technology), Dr. Samuel Munda (Senior Assistant Registrar, Academic Affairs) and Dr. Nixon Sangili (Dean, School of Education and Social Sciences).

The conference brings together policymakers, education stakeholders, industry players, researchers and international delegates to discuss critical issues shaping the future of qualifications, skills development and quality assurance in Kenya and beyond.

Key thematic areas under discussion include Quality Assurance and Relevance of Qualifications, Industry Linkages, Employability and Skills Development among others.

Participation in the conference reinforces the University's commitment to academic excellence, innovation and aligning its programmes with emerging industry and global workforce demands.

Today, Kaimosi Friends University proudly marked the climax of the International Nurses Week celebrations, honoring the dedication, resilience and transformative role of nurses in our society.

From impactful community outreach activities to powerful reflections on inclusive healthcare and disability awareness, the week showcased the heart of nursing beyond the classroom. The celebrations were crowned with exciting sporting activities that brought together students and staff in a spirit of unity, wellness and teamwork.

Our student leaders have officially arrived in Arusha, Tanzania, for the 7th East African University and College Student Leaders Conference taking place at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology.

Held under the theme “Student Leadership for Sustainable Development and Social Impact in the Region,” the conference has brought together distinguished scholars, policymakers, academic leaders and student representatives from across East Africa to deliberate on key issues shaping leadership in higher education.

The discussions will focus on thematic areas including ethical and value-based leadership, understanding Gen Z dynamics and their influence on student governance, as well as promoting accountability, transparency and good governance among student leaders.

Their participation reflects the Vice Chancellor's continued commitment to nurturing visionary, responsible and transformative leaders for the region and beyond.

We have just watched a video of Kaimosi Friends University VC Prof. Peter Mwita speaking about the institution, its course offerings, and the ongoing construction of an ultra-modern library.

He says the university currently offers 24 degree programmes, with 5 more under review and expected to be introduced soon. It also has approx. 8,000 students, and they are targeting an additional 3,000 enrollments this year.

One thing that genuinely stood out to us is his simplicity, focus, vision and commitment to growing the institution. It is rare to find vice chancellors with this level of dedication, accessibility, and clear sense of purpose.

As we have said before, Kaimosi may still be young, but it is steadily rising. The leadership appears razor-focused, and it is only a matter of time before many people begin to notice the progress being made there.

Once again, we want to give Prof. Peter Mwita his well-deserved flowers 🌹🌹🌹 for setting the benchmark in promoting public institutions.
