|AUPP Public Speaking Competition-Spring 2022|

On April 23, 2022, the AUPP Public Speaking Club successfully conducted an online competition via Zoom and Facebook Live. During the 5 weeks of club sessions, the team witnessed the members' growth and how they gained their confidence in their speaking skills. The team is very proud of every single one of you and wishes the best for everyone.

In addition, We would like to announce the winners are:

+1st Runner-up: Norrakneath Kong
+2nd Runner-up: Sok Im Virak & Pich Seang

Last but not least, we would like to extend our gratitude to the APSC Club Advisor and also one of the judges, Professor Judy Gray Royka. We also would like to thank Professor Richard Evan Lloyd and Mrs. Veronica Lane Dasom for being the judges for the competition this season. The competition wouldn't go smoothly without cooperation from the candidate and support from the online audience. Thank you everyone for being a part of the APSC Competition-Spring 2022 event.

| AUPP Public Speaking Club - 5th session Recap|

Today is the last session of the AUPP Public Speaking Club. Everyone was doing a rehearsal of their speeches to prepare for their upcoming competition. Along with that, the team and the members are encouraged to give their feedback to everyone to improve their speeches. We are helping each other improve together. Last but not least, everyone is invited to witness our members giving their speeches that will be held on April 23rd, 2022.

| AUPP Public Speaking Club - 3rd session Recap |

The 3rd session of the AUPP Public Speaking Club fell under the theme "Persuading Like an Author." The team shared with the members about DOs, DON'Ts, and TIPS on tones, fluency, and body language. In addition, the team also introduced six different types of rhetorics that are very significant to implement in their speech and their daily lives. Most importantly, there was also time for the members to pair up and do "Role Play" by choosing any scene from the films to act out, which is the main focus of today's session.

| AUPP Public Speaking Club 2nd Meeting Recap|

Today is the 2nd meeting of the APSC. We have shared with the members the mindset that we should have in the club. Moreover, the team also introduced the structure in the Simple Speech Outline, which includes an introduction, body, and conclusion. The team also talked about each type of presentation delivery and gave out ideas on which type is the most appropriate to use in a professional setting. Regarding that, the team also shared their experiences on how to boost their confidence and how it is natural to make mistakes during speaking. Last but not least, the team also surprised the members with an "Impromptu Speech," in which the members had only 30 seconds to prepare and maximum 3 minutes to talk on a given topic. We're glad to see how each member tried to push forward and tried their best to talk as much as they could. We hope the members can keep up with that spirit and grow forward.

|AUPP Public Speaking Club 1st Meeting Recap|

The AUPP Public Speaking Club held its first session today. The APSC team would like to thank our club advisor, Prof. Judith Gray Royka, for attending the club's first meeting and giving her speech to encourage our club members. In addition, the team has extended a warm welcome to the 11 enthusiastic members who are eager to participate in facing their fears and challenges themselves to overcome their weaknesses during our 5 sessions of our club period.

Lastly, let give a warm welcome to all new members of the APSC family!

AUPP Public Speaking Club would like to introduce everyone to our new club advisor. 🤩

Let give a warm welcome to our club advisor, Prof. Judy Gray Royka. Prof. Judy will be guiding the students by sharing tips and having interactive discussion with regard to public speaking. 👏

About Prof. Judy Gray Royka:

Prof. Judy Gray Royka is an Instructor and Director of the English Preparatory Program at AUPP. She has master's degree in Teaching English as a second and Foreign Language from the University of Birmingham UK. She was also a sign language interpreter and drama teacher in her early career. For the past 24 years she has been teaching English in various parts of the world such as South Korea, The Marshall Islands, Vietnam, Ivory Coast and now Cambodia. Her classes have ranged from kindergarten to post graduate level. She has mostly focused on students in preparatory programs that prepare them to have adequate English and academic skills to enter international colleges and universities. She has also been the First Year Experience Coordinator for an international college and enjoy helping students get the life skills they need to do well not only in their education but in their everyday activities. She has presented at many conferences worldwide. She is a student centered and hands on kind of instructor, so she always has an active and fun classroom environment. She loves to travel and meet people. She looks forward to exploring Cambodia more in the years to come.
