கல்வி அமைச்சினால் இலங்கை ஆசிரிய சேவைக்கு நியமனம் வழங்குவதாக கல்வி அமைச்சில் சிரேஷ்ட தரத்தில் இருக்கும் திரு எஸ். முரளிதரன் அவர்களின் பெயரைப் பயன்படுத்தி கீழ்குறிப்பிட்ட இலக்கத்தில் இருந்து பல்வேறு நபர்களுக்கு தொலைபேசியூடாக தொடர்பு கொண்டு நியமனம் பெற்றுத்தரலாம் எனத் தெரிவித்து பணத்தைப் பெற்றுக் கொள்ளும் நோக்கில் இவ்வாறான ஒரு சில நபர்கள் பலதடவைகள் பல்வேறு நபர்களை தொடர்பு கொண்டு மோசடியில் ஈடுபட்டு வருகின்றனர் இன்று என்னிடம் நன்றாக வாங்கிக் கொண்டார் இவ்வாறான எந்தவொரு செயற்பாடும் கல்வி அமைச்சில் முன்னெடுக்கப்படுவதில்லை. ஏமாற வேண்டாம்.

9th / programme of Office for National Unity and Reconciliation - ONUR under way in Colombo with the participation of students from the Western Province, Northern Province and Eastern Province.

After three decades of deadly war, consequent devastations rendered Sri Lankan society with bitter communal divisions and estrangement. It has now become incumbent on us, to inculcate the sense of social harmony and national integration in the minds of our present day younger generation.

In this context, the Office for National Unity and Reconciliation - ONUR and the Bakeer Markar Centre for National Unity (BMCNU) conducted an all-island essay and art competition for schoolchildren on the theme “Unity in Diversity is the Strength of Our Nation”. The competition attracted 1283 essays in all three languages and 9060 pieces of art, covering all provinces of the country.

An awards ceremony to give away prizes for the national and provincial winners of the competition will be held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Convention Hall (BMICH) on the 1st of November 2017.

The event was graced by Former President and ONUR Chairperson Madam Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, BMCNU President Imthiaz Bakeer Markar and ONUR Director General M.S. Jayasinghe and other dignitaries.
