The Department of Zoology has been in existence from the inception of the University of Colombo and provides a comprehensive program to students entering the Faculty of Science. The Department makes every effort to give students a sound subject knowledge in Zoology and Environmental Science as well as provide opportunities to develop and improve their communication and other generic skills that wo

uld make them employable. In keeping with the curriculum revision in 2003, which has taken into consideration the current trends in education development and national employment, the department has incorporated new subject areas as well as modern teaching and assessment methods.
