🏆 The Power of Grit: A Journey of Not Settling

​They say success is a choice, but for some, it’s a hard-fought battle.

​Since he was a kid, he had a natural spark for fixing things and a drive for innovation, always curious about how the world works. After securing a brilliant 8As and 1B at his O/Ls, he could have walked away to another school. Instead, he chose loyalty, staying back at Lumbini College to take on the challenge of the Physical Science stream. For the next two years, he became a solid 4th speaker in our oratory and debating union, proving that you can balance the intensity of the debating stage with the rigor of the classroom.

​But the real test of character came in 2024. With 3Bs in his first attempt, the doors to a university were already open. Most people told him to take the seat and move on. But for a mind built for engineering and innovation, "good enough" wasn't the goal. He knew he had more in him, and he wasn't ready to let go of his engineering dream just for the sake of safety.

​Choosing the "hard way," he faced the 2025 A/L exam with nothing but self-confidence and pure grit. Today, that courage has paid off with a stunning 2As and 1B. We saw the sweat, the pressure, and the relentless drive. To our "inspirational dial," thank you for showing us that you don't have to settle when you’re destined for greatness.

Back-to-Back Finals, and the Legacy Continues -- Our Juniors Shine Again!

We’re proud to announce that our team finished All-Island Runners-up after a hard-fought final!
Here’s our journey:

1️⃣ Presentation round (Round 1): Cleared the presentation test and advanced to the main rounds.
2️⃣ Round 2: Defeated Bandaranayake College, Gampaha.
3️⃣ Round 3: Beat Mahanama College, Colombo.
4️⃣ Semi-finals: Overcame Colombo Ladies’ College to reach the final.
5️⃣ Final: Faced Sri Sumangala College, Panadura-after an intense debate we proudly secured the Runners-up position !

Special mention: Resadu Samadith--our senior Sinhala debating team captain was named Best Debater of the Tournament!

𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 – 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢-𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞! 🔥

The stage is set as 𝗟𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲, 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗼 takes on 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲, 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗼 𝟬𝟳 in the semi-finals of TourVoice 2025 – Sri Lanka’s first-ever all-island inter-school debating championship on tourism education.

Only one team will secure their spot in the Grand Finale – who will it be? The clash of voices begins! 🏆🎤
