இலங்கை சமுத்திர பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் யாழ்ப்பாண பிராந்திய நிலையத்தினால் முதல் முறையாக இளையோர்களின் தன்னம்பிகை மற்றும் திறன்களை வெளிக்கொணரும் வகையில் நீச்சல் திறன் போட்டி 20..05.2026 அன்று புதன் கிழமை கிளிநொச்சி மாவட்டத்தில் இடம்பெறவுள்ளது. இப் போட்டியில் இளைஞர்கள் மற்றும் யுவதிகள் மிகுந்த ஆர்வத்துடன் கலந்துகொள்ள முன்வந்துள்ளமை இங்கு குறிப்பிடத்தக்க விசேட அம்சமாகும்.

For the first time, the Jaffna Regional Centre of Ocean University of Sri Lanka is conducting a swimming skills competition aimed at bringing out the self-confidence and talents of young people. The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 20.05.2026, in Kilinochchi District.
It is noteworthy that a large number of young men and women have come forward with great enthusiasm to participate in this competition.

இலங்கை சமுத்திர பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் யாழ்ப்பாண பிராந்திய நிலையத்தில் 16.05.2026 அன்று புதுமுக மாணவர்களுக்கான நீச்சல் பயிற்சிநெறியின் ஆரம்ப நிகழ்வு இடம்பெற்றது. இப் பயிற்சிநெறியில் யாழ்ப்பாண பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் மாணவர்களும் இணைந்துகொண்டிருப்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

An insightful and productive industrial field visit was successfully conducted at Annai Seafood Processing Company for the students of the Aquaculture Technician Program (NVQ Level 4) and Aquaculture and Aquatic Resource Management Program (NVQ Level 5).

This visit provided valuable hands-on exposure to the seafood processing industry and allowed students to connect their classroom knowledge with real-world industrial practices. During the session, students observed and learned about:

🪼Shrimp, fish, and cuttlefish processing techniques
🪼Cleaning, grading, cutting, and quality handling procedures

🪼Seafood preservation and cold-chain management

🪼Packaging, transportation, and export procedures

🪼Hygiene standards and quality control practices followed in seafood industries

🪼Modern processing technologies and workplace safety measures

The visit gave students a broader understanding of how seafood products move from harvest to international markets while maintaining quality and safety standards. It was an excellent opportunity for students to interact with industry professionals and gain practical insights into career pathways within the fisheries and seafood export sector.
