Department of Business Management, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka Principal department out of four departments in the faculty was established with the establishment of the Faculty of Business Studies and Finance.

The Department of Business Management as the principal department out of four departments in the faculty was established with the establishment of the Faculty of Business Studies and Finance. The department during its short span of life has achieved a great success in catering the expectations of its stakeholders in an effective and efficient way. Presently the department is able to offer both und

ergraduate and postgraduate courses considering the requirements of the local community. The prime consideration of the department is to contribute the society in creating and developing knowledge. The department intends to attribute undergraduate with;

1. An in-depth understanding in management concepts both from a theoretical and practical perspectives
2. The modern academic knowledge, skills, abilities and insights into the current practices of management in Business organizations
3.Leadership, entrepreneurial skills and skills of communication and presentation
4.Range of competencies in understanding of and dealing with management issues in modern organizations

5. Firm base for further study on management
The department of Business Management also committed to pursue excellence in conducting management researches and community services in the region while making every effort to contribute to the Faculty vision� to be the centre of excellence for Business Studies and finance education in Sri Lanka.

The ceremony to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Wayamba University of Sri Lanka and hSenid Business Solutions (Pvt.) Ltd. took place on 16th February 2026 in the Vice Chancellor's Office in the Main Administrative Building of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka. Representing the two institutions, this MoU was signed by Professor E.M.P. Ekanayake, Vice Chancellor of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka, and Mr. Sampath Jayasundara, Chief Executive Officer and Director of hSenid Business Solutions (Pvt.) Ltd. Prof. S.K. Gamage, the Dean, Faculty of Business Studies & Finance; Mr. W.A.D. Chithrananda, the Registrar, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka; and Mr. Thushara Dissanayake, General Manager – Sri Lanka, Chief Delivery Officer, hSenid Business Solutions PLC, and Mr. Mahinda Pathirana, Senior Manager, Customer Success, hSenid Business Solutions PLC, attested the MoU.

This collaboration aims at developing knowledge and providing professional training for the undergraduates at the Department of Business Management. Such students will not only be exposed to human resource management functions but will also be inculcated with a plethora of comprehensive skills via the HRM enterprise application software supplied by hSenid Business Solutions (Pvt.) Ltd. under this MoU.
