An Unforgettable Experience with Students of Christ King College, Weliweriya, at FMSC
On the 20th of March 2026, the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC), University of Sri Jayewardenepura, had the pleasure of hosting 85 Advanced Level students from Christ King College, Weliweriya, accompanied by their teachers.
The group was warmly welcomed at the university entrance and guided to the Information Technology Resource Centre (ITRC), where the official welcome took place.
The program featured an engaging and insightful session conducted by Senior Prof. Hemantha Kottawatta from the Department of Human Resource Management. His session focused on career planning and goal setting, encouraging students to think ambitiously and strategically about their future paths. The gathering was also addressed by the Acting Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Prathap Kaluthanthri, who shared valuable insights and experiences with the students.
The students then participated in an informative library session coordinated by Mr. Shantha Angammana, Senior Assistant Librarian. They were introduced to the university’s digital resources, including online books, journals, and catalogues, followed by a guided tour of the library and its facilities.
A visit to the Information Technology Resource Centre (ITRC) provided students with the opportunity to explore the technological resources available to support their academic and professional development. As part of this visit, students were also taken on a tour of the server room, gaining firsthand insight into the infrastructure and systems that power these technologies.
After lunch, the students enjoyed a brief tour of the FMSC and the wider university premises, experiencing the vibrant university environment.
The visit concluded successfully, with students and teachers expressing their sincere appreciation for the warm hospitality and the well-organised program.
