The calligraphy club gives students the opportunity to learn more about the different types of Arabic calligraphy and provides them with the tools needed to be able to write in this style. Students also get to discover the history of the different Arabic calligraphy types such as Naskh, Rukà, Thulth, Kufi and Diwani.

Besides cultural trips, the ARANAS program has many clubs that contribute to students' cultural immersion such as the cooking club.

The cooking club offers ARANAS students the opportunity to discover the Moroccan traditional cuisine through practice. This activity helps them interact with other Moroccan students and thus sharpen their Arabic language skills as they are asked to describe the process they followed to prepare their meals.

These trips pave the way for students to acquire historical information about the imperial cities in Morocco as well as the dazzling desert where they can watch the alluring sunset and sunrise on the top of the Merzouga dunes. Knowledgeable guides are in charge of providing as much information as needed about the important monuments in the visited cities such as: Fès, Marrakech, Meknès, Southern desert and Tangier or Rabat.

Students' cultural immersion is ensured through the numerous cultural trips of the program.

• Weekend Trip to the Sahara Desert, Marrakech and Fes
• Independent travel in groups throughout Morocco on free weekends is also an easy and fairly cheap option that many students choose to partake in during their stay
• Immersion activities involve:
o Visit of local centers for learning and development to discover Ifrane
o 7th week of cultural immersion in a major urban center in Morocco.

• HIS 1301: History of the Arab World
• SSC 2306/SSC 5306: Issues in Contemporary North Africa
• HUM 2304: "Islamic Art and Architecture"
• PSC 3310: "North African Government and Politics"
• SSC 3398: "Issues in Contemporary Islam: Gender"
• HIS 3310: Contemporary Moroccan History
• HUM 1310: History and Culture of the Amazigh

ILO’s established in accordance with ACTFEL standards.

- Arabic Courses

• ARA 1511 / ARA 1512: Beginning Arabic: For students with no prior experience with Arabic
• ARA 2411 / ARA 2412: Intermediate Arabic: For students who have studied Arabic for 2 or 3 semesters
• ARA 3411 / ARA 3412: Advanced Arabic: For students who have studied Arabic for 4 to 5 semesters
• ARA 4611: Arabic for special topics: For students who have studied Arabic for 6 to 8 semesters.

There must be a minimum of 5 students in ARA 1511 and ARA 4611 for the course to be offered.
