For those who wish to study in the UK, the American University introduces to you their new partner university, the University of the West of England, Bristol!

Not only is it the 36th in the Guardian University Guide of 2022, but it is also a University that has proven that 90.2% of their graduates are either in work or is furthering their study, after graduating.

How does it differ from our other partnered universities, you may ask? Well, the University of the West of England, Bristol, is unlike the American Education system as it requires students to attend there for four or more years with its European Credit and Accumulation System (ECTS). Moreover, within the first year at Bristol, the foundation year, students are required to choose either Business or one of its STEM related majors such as Engineering or Biology. It is done so in order for students to get a general education of the subject before it becomes their main focused major for the rest of their student years. Therefore, you need to make a decision of which subject you will take since the beginning. You cannot learn them. There can only be one from the beginning to the end.

However, with the American University of Yangon, you can learn the general education of all of them within your two years here in Myanmar. You don’t need to decide from the start. Here, we give you more time to think with the option for you to learn all of them. So when it is time for you to transfer and study in the UK, you will have a better understanding of which subject you are truly passionate about, and choose it out of all the other options.

One important thing to remember is that you will only be skipping the foundation year which is one, not two, for the STEM related majors. But that does not mean that you will only have to attend just three more years there because, depending on the major you had chosen, you may have to attend three or more years.

The only subject that allows you to only attend two years there would be Business. Nonetheless, it is a very unique program unlike our 2+2 American Transfer program. It is our UK program.

စာမေးပွဲ ဖြေကြမယ့်သူတွေ အတွက်တော့ စိတ်လှုပ်ရှားနေတဲ့သူတွေတစ်ချို့တော့ရှိမှာပါ။ အဓိက အကြောင်းအရင်းကတော့ GED ဟာ ဆယ်ကျော်သက်တိုင်းအတွက် အခွင့်အရေးကောင်းတစ်ခု မို့လို့ပါ။ တော်တော်များများ ရင်းနှီးပြီးသားဖြစ်ပေမဲ့ AU မှ အားလုံးကို GED ဆိုတာဘာလဲကို ယခုပဲအတိုချုံးလေးနဲ့မျှဝေလိုက်ပါတယ်။

2) Mathematical Reasoning (topics include: Arithmetic, Algebra, Data Analysis, Geometry)
3)Social Studies (United States and World History, Geography, Economic, Civic and the Organization of the Government)

Hello everyone, are you all excited that the next GED exam is coming?

I’m sure some of you are. The main reason being that it is a great opportunity for every teenager. Even though most of you may already be familiar with it, we of the AUY team would like to share with those who aren’t so they can be a part of this great opportunity as well.

Now, what is the GED exam?

The GED exam has been dubbed by many names such as Graduate Equivalency Degree or General Educational Diploma. However, GED is basically a high school equivalency exam that is up to Grade 12.

But what subjects are included in this so-called GED exam?

Well there are actually four subjects.
1) Reasoning Through Language Art (Reading Comprehension, Grammar and Language Convention, Writing)
2) Mathematical Reasoning (topics include: Arithmetic, Algebra, Data Analysis, Geometry)
3) Social Studies (United States and World History, Geography, Economic, Civic and the Organization of the Government)
4) Science (topics include: life science, physical science, earth and space science) etc. This makes the total response time for taking all those subjects’ exam 7 hours and 25 minutes.

Why take GED? Why is it so beneficial?

You see, after a student finishes high school, they receive a certificate of completion from that specific high school which allows them to move on to university studies. Nowadays, there are those who are unable to take the university entrance exam for various reasons. Therefore, they choose to take part in the GED exam.

The main reason is that there is less preparation time compared to other universities’ entrance exams. It also saves a lot of cost.

Since GED needs a short preparation time, it is especially suitable for those who want to improve and continue their education with short preparation time or those who are looking for a substitute of the Matriculation examination.

With a GED certification, you will have an opportunity to get into many universities and continue your education.

- UK အပြင် သြစတေးလျ၊ နယူးဇီလန်များမှာ ကျောင်းတက်ခြင်းနဲ့လုပ်ငန်းအတွေ့အကြုံကောင်းတွေကို သင်ယူလေ့လာခြင်းအခွင့်အရေးများစွာရှိပါတယ်။
- Bachelor of Business ကဲ့သို့ ပင်မ Business စီမံခန့်ခွဲမှုမေဂျာ များအပြင် Accounting and Business Management (စာရင်းအင်းနှင့် စီမံခန့်ခွဲမှု), International Business (အင်တာနေရှင်နယ်လုပ်ငန်းစီမံ), Business Law (ဥပဒေနှင့် လုပ်ငန်းစီမံ) , Business Economics (စီးပွားရေးနှင့် လုပ်ငန်းစီမံ), Marketing (မာကတ်တင်း), Finance and Administration (ငွေကြေးစီမံ), Human Resources (ဝန်ထမ်းစီမံ), Public Relations (လူထုဆက်သွယ်ရေး) အစရှိသဖြင့် မိမိနှစ်သက်ရာအထူးပြုများလည်း

အင်္ဂလန်နိုင်ငံ International Year One ကို အချိန်မီ တက်ရောက်နိုင်ဖို့ International Business Foundation အတန်းဟာ စတင်တော့မှာ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ နောက်ကျသိရှိ တက်ရောက်လိုသူများအတွက် နိုဝင်ဘာလအထိသာ ကျောင်းအပ်လက်ခံပေးသွားမှာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
