Learning Institute for Empowerment (LIfE), MMU and the Strategic Marketing Department, MMU were honoured to collaborate with SK Cyberjaya in successfully organising the Bengkel Pembentukan Karakter Insaniah, bringing together over 600 participants, including teachers and young learners from SK Cyberjaya.

The programme was led by two speakers, Ts. Natalya Dato' Shamsuar, Director of Strategic Marketing, MMU, and Dr. Muhammad Effendi Ismail, Lecturer at LIfE, MMU. Through their inspiring talks and engaging interactions, participants were encouraged to develop strong character, embrace a growth mindset, and cultivate the confidence, resilience, and leadership qualities needed to thrive in an increasingly dynamic and technology-driven world.

🌟 It is hoped that this meaningful initiative will inspire young learners to become confident, responsible, and future-ready individuals who are prepared to contribute positively to society and the nation.

🎓 MMU Recreation Day: Aerobic Fiesta 2026 (2nd Edition)

For the second consecutive year, MMU Recreation Day: Aerobic Fiesta 2026 returned with even greater energy, bringing together over 600 students and members of the MMU community and transforming Dewan Tun Canselor into a vibrant arena of fitness, creativity, teamwork, and student leadership.

Organised by Recreation Sports students in collaboration with the Learning Institute for Empowerment (LIfE MMU), this event served as the students' final project—transforming classroom knowledge into a real-world learning experience. This year's edition featured 16 dynamic aerobic performance teams, showcasing not only physical coordination and rhythm but also the values of discipline, collaboration, innovation, and perseverance.

Spearheaded by their lecturer, Dr. Muhammad Effendi Ismail, and supported by Mdm Iris, together with four experienced aerobic instructors—Ms. Wawa, Mr. Nabil, Mr. Qaiyum, and Ms. Wahdatul—the students demonstrated remarkable excellence through months of preparation, creativity, and teamwork.

More than just a fitness event, Aerobic Fiesta 2026 reflects MMU's commitment to holistic education—nurturing not only academic excellence, but also physical well-being, leadership, and lifelong learning.

Character Building Talk with Ts. Tan Aik Keong

On 20th May 2026, a Character Building Talk titled *“From MMU to Main Market”* was successfully held at MSMX0001 (A1), Multimedia University Melaka Campus, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The talk featured Ts. Tan Aik Keong, the CEO and founder of Agmo and an alumnus of MMU.

The session was attended by students enrolled in Character Building, such as Entrepreneurship and Uniform Bodies. Throughout the talk, Ts. Tan shared his inspiring journey from a student at MMU to CEO of his own company. He highlighted the challenges, experiences, and valuable lessons he encountered along the way toward achieving success in the technology industry.

In addition, Ts. Tan emphasised the importance of developing good characteristics, soft skills, and professionalism while still in university. He also encouraged students to start building their portfolios early, as it would help them stand out and prepare for future career opportunities.

The talk provided valuable insights and motivation for the students, inspiring them to continually improve academically and personally to achieve their future goals.

On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, our Character-Building Performing Arts students had the privilege of attending an inspiring session with the custodian of Dondang Sayang, Mr. Hairul Asraf bin Abu Hussain, fondly known as Along Asraf. He is also a National Arts and Culture Trainer and a Melaka FM personality.

Speaking passionately on the theme “Cultural Legacy: Inspiring Character, Igniting the Stage,” he captivated the audience with his dynamic stage delivery, mesmerising Dondang Sayang performances, and extensive experience in the performing arts. The audience was particularly impressed when he shared a career highlight through a video clip of his performance representing Malaysia in Dondang Sayang at the 2025 SEA Games closing ceremony in Bangkok. The session concluded on a high note, as the audience was invited to participate in a lively joget lambak, which was both engaging and enjoyable.

During the session, Mr. Hairul Asraf shared valuable insights into the history and cultural significance of Dondang Sayang, emphasising how the performing arts serve as a powerful medium for connecting communities and shaping character. He also highlighted the importance of preserving cultural heritage among the younger generation.

Overall, the session was both enlightening and enriching, offering a meaningful and memorable experience for students and instructors alike.

On 13 May 2026, the CB Committee under the Learning Institute of Empowerment (LIfE) Cyberjaya hosted a talk featuring Patrick Loke Pak Cheok at Dewan Tun Canselor, Multimedia University.

During the session, Mr Patrick Loke shared his past experiences that shaped who he is today. He emphasised the importance and benefits of exercise, explaining that maintaining a consistent exercise routine not only helps individuals achieve a healthy body, but also enables them to develop a healthy mind capable of overcoming challenges and achieving success.

In addition, Mr Patrick elaborated on the concept of performance mastery by sharing his personal experiences and insights. At the end of the session, he encouraged students to always go one step further in whatever they do, highlighting the importance of putting in extra effort to achieve excellence.

The event was attended by Prof Ir Dr Zulfadzli Mohd Yusoff, academicians, and nearly 2,500 students.
