The Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors (PAQS) Congress 2026, held in Sri Lanka on 24–25 August 2026, was officiated by the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Dr Harini Amarasuriya, underscoring the significance of the Congress to the built environment profession regionally and internationally.
The Congress brought together quantity surveying and built environment professionals from across the PAQS community, including Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Indonesia, Brunei, Canada, the Philippines and South Africa, together with participants from other international markets.
The University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM) was represented by academics from the School of the Built Environment, strengthening the University’s international visibility and professional engagement within the Asia-Pacific built environment community.
The Congress also marked an important milestone for UoRM’s BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying programme, with the formal presentation of its five-year PAQS re-accreditation certificate.
This recognition reaffirms the programme’s alignment with international professional standards and reflects UoRM’s continued commitment to academic quality, industry relevance, research excellence and global professional engagement.
