Glad to welcome distinguished solar energy researchers from Japan to Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN).

The delegation included:
• Professor Makoto Konagai – Professor Emeritus, Advanced Research Laboratories, Tokyo City University
• Professor Ryosuke Ishikawa – Professor, Advanced Research Laboratories, Tokyo City University
• ⁠Dr. Mitsuhiro Shigeta – Assistant Professor, Photovoltaics Laboratory, Ritsumeikan University

The visit and technical discussions provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and exploring potential collaborations in next-generation solar cell research and sustainable energy technologies.

Had a great experience on the final day of ETCon 2026, attending the forum organised by Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), featuring insightful sessions with speakers from UNITEN and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) students.

The discussion, “Leading from the Grid Edge: The ET Generation Speaks”, brought fresh and inspiring perspectives on the future of energy and innovation.

Beyond the forum, I also had the opportunity to meet and engage with many professionals, students, and industry players truly valuable networking moments!

Looking forward to more collaborations and ideas that can shape the future of energy.

Honoured to have been part of the panel discussion, “Shaping an AI-Ready Generation: The Role of Today’s Leaders” at ETCon 2026.

It was a privilege to share the stage with Leon Jala, Group CEO of PEMANDU Associates, and Natalie Loi, Head of Technology at UnBound Sdn. Bhd., with the session expertly moderated by Danial Rahman, CEO of the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute (ASLI).

The discussion reinforced an important message: while technology continues to evolve rapidly, our responsibility as leaders is to ensure that the next generation is equipped with the right skills, values, and mindset to thrive in an AI-driven future.

It was a privilege to be part of ETCon 2026 today, a valuable platform that brought together industry leaders, academics, researchers, and technology experts to exchange insights on the future of energy, innovation, and sustainable development.

The discussions and knowledge shared throughout the conference reinforced the importance of stronger collaboration between academia and industry in addressing emerging challenges and shaping future-ready talent. It was also an excellent opportunity to engage with fellow thought leaders, explore new ideas, and identify potential partnerships that can create meaningful impact for our communities and the nation.
