The Hungry Ghost Festival is celebrated by the Taoists and Chinese Buddhists on the 15th day of the seventh lunar month every year 👻Taoist focus on appeasing the wandering souls released from the netherworld, while the emphasis of the Buddhist is filial piety 🙏🏻

Hungry Ghost festival is celebrated to deal with the errant ghost on the land 💨During the month, the Taoists and Chinese Buddhists will perform special ceremonies to avoid the wrath of the ghosts such as putting the family’s ancestral tablets on the table, burning incense, and preparing some foods 🙏🏻🙏🏻People also might leave the place open at the table on that night as they wanted to feed the hungry ghosts who have been wandering the land since the beginning of Hungry Ghost Month 👻

So, everyone please be careful and stays safe during the Hungry Ghost month 🥺🥺Please follow the “SOP” that was passed down from our ancestors to avoid the hungry ghost eating your "soul” away 😨😨
