A meaningful celebration of Malaysia’s spirit of independence through the creativity and artistic expressions of MIA students and graduates at OMBAK KLCC, held from 28–31 August 2026.

A heartfelt thank you to the organisers for the opportunity and support in making this exhibition possible. Our sincere appreciation also goes to all lecturers, students and graduates whose dedication, creativity and commitment contributed to the success of Jiwa Merdeka.

May art continue to unite us, inspire us, and celebrate the diverse stories that make Malaysia truly special.

“THE SNARE STILL RINGING – A TRIBUTE TO BUDEN”successfully launched on Saturday, 15 August 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Galeri Puteh.

This meaningful exhibition celebrates the our late Mr Samsudin Wahab (Sir Buden) former lecturer of the MIA Fine Art Department.

Featuring works by many established and emerging artists, the exhibition brings together a heartfelt tribute to an important artist in our country and educator in MIA whose presence and influence continue to inspire generations and celebrated by the lectures and students from various semesters.

May this exhibition not only honour Buden’s legacy, but also inspire everyone to explore, create and continue the spirit of art in their own artistic journey. 🎨✨

The opening for the MALAYSIA THROUGH US A Photography Art Exhibition was successfully held today!

This special exhibition in conjunction with Malaysia’s 69th National Day, Malaysia Day & Visit Malaysia Year 2026 had featured the lectures, students and alumni of Fine Art Department of MIA; Liu Cheng Hua, Lee Wei Heng, Patricia Christine, Sivarajah Natarajan, Lim Soon Hock, Lee Ren Xin, Goh Yee Ern, Khoo Yue Xin and Emily Tan Ching Wen.

Discover Malaysia through the artistic lens of 30 Malaysian contemporary artists, presenting a compelling visual journey of our nation’s people, culture, heritage, landscapes, food, and future. Through photography, each artwork captures unique stories that celebrate the beauty, diversity, and spirit of Malaysia.

We are delighted to welcome back Lim Zhi Wei, a MIA Fine Art Class of 2024, who has successfully completed her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Fine Art Painting & Drawing at the University of Northampton, United Kingdom, graduating with Second Class Upper Division in 2025. 👏🎨

During her time at MIA, Zhi Wei served as the Vice President of the Fine Art Society and Student Representatives Council for two consecutive terms and was also recognised as MIA’s Best Student, reflecting her outstanding leadership, dedication, and academic excellence.

A heartfelt thank you for dropping by MIA Fine Art with thoughtful gifts for all lecturers and spending time with our Semester 6 students. Your casual sharing of your creative academic journey, leadership experiences, and overseas study life was truly inspiring. What an incredible opening! 🥳 The Under The Painted Tent Group Art Exhibition at Capital Fine Art was officially launched by Mr. Syed Wafa on Saturday, 18 July 2026, at 2.00pm. We are truly grateful for the overwhelming support and warm presence of everyone who joined us to celebrate this special occasion.

A big congratulations to Rayan , Yuki Mun , and all the exhibiting artists! 👏💐 Thank you to everyone who came to support the show and made the opening such a memorable success. Your encouragement means the world to our young artists.

The students of Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA) had the rare opportunity to experience an inspiring Live Impasto Oil Painting Demonstration, Masterclass, and Academic Discourse by Mr. Wei Guoyin (蔚国银). 🎨🖼️🖌️

Through his live demonstration, students explored Impressionist plein-air oil painting, colour temperature, composition, impasto techniques, paint handling, and the use of oil materials. Thank you, Mr. Wei, for your generosity in sharing your knowledge and inspiring the next generation of artists.

Our sincere appreciation also goes to the MIA Alumni Association for the kind arrangement and for making this meaningful academic exchange possible. We look forward to welcoming Mr. Wei again in the future!

马来西亚艺术学院（MIA）学生有幸参与由蔚国银老师主讲的厚涂油画现场示范、大师班及学术交流。

透过精彩的现场创作，学生深入了解印象派户外写生、色彩冷暖、构图、厚涂技法、颜料运用及传统油画材料的实践。感谢蔚老师慷慨分享丰富的创作经验与艺术理念，启发年轻艺术学子。
