🏆 National Engineering Triumph: 2nd Prize at Tan Sri Haji Yusoff Ibrahim FYP Competition 2025!

Huge congratulations to Lee Hao Yuen from TAR UMT Mechanical Engineering for winning the 2nd Prize at this year’s prestigious national competition organized by IEM.

The Best of the Best:
In a competition where every university nominates only their single best project per discipline, Hao Yuen’s work, "Design and Fabrication of 3D-Printed Splints for Wrist Fractures," emerged as the top-ranked Mechanical Engineering project in Malaysia.
Well done, Hao Yuen! You have set a remarkable standard for our engineering community.

东钢国际人才培养规划（东钢集团服务奖学金）自2023年启动以来，致力于为有志于工程领域发展的中学毕业生提供服务奖学金与优质就业机会，支持他们就读拉曼理工大学各工程科系。

与此同时，鉴于马来西亚在钢铁冶金专业人才方面的长期缺口，该项目也推动了拉曼理工大学、北京科技大学与东钢集团三方在钢铁冶金人才培养方面的深度合作，打造更具前瞻性与产业导向的人才培育模式。

We just got news that TAR UMT has won the Second Prize at the AI for All: China-ASEAN Super League 2026 Smart City Development and Innovation Competition, which was held yesterday, 29 March 2026! TAR UMT is extremely proud to have the honour of representing our nation at this international-level competition, which saw participation from universities such as Tsinghua University, National University of Singapore, Mahasarakham University, and National University of Civil Engineering, Vietnam.

Yesterday, the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FOET), TAR UMT had the pleasure of hosting a courtesy visit from Wuhan University ,comprising 2 academics and 21 students.
The visit provided a valuable platform for academic exchange, where FOET introduced our programmes, shared insights into our teaching and learning approaches, and highlighted opportunities for future collaboration. The delegates were also given a guided campus tour, allowing them to experience TAR UMT’s facilities and vibrant learning environment firsthand.
We sincerely appreciate the visit and the engaging interactions throughout the session. FOET looks forward to fostering stronger ties and exploring more collaborative opportunities in the future.
