Silaturahim & Rahmah Mesra 2026 Gathering with UUMKL Postgraduate Students ✨🌙
The PGA recently organized a Silaturahim & Rahmah Mesra 2026 Gathering with UUMKL Postgraduate Students on 26 April 2026 at Level 7, Tower 1, UUMKL. The event was held in a warm, harmonious, and meaningful atmosphere. The event attended by Provost, Prof. Dr Norlela Bt Hasnan, Deputy Registrar En. Hisaruddin B. Amat, Dean Prof. Madya Dr. Nik Adzrieman B. Abdul Rahman, senior lecturers and UUMKL staff together with post graduate students.
The event began with an opening speech by the current President of the Post Graduate Association (PGA) UUMKL, Abdul Aziz Shaazi bin Shaarani, who conveyed his gratitude and appreciation to UUMKL especially Provost, Prof Dr Norlena for her support on all PGA related programs, past or present. He mentioned PGA was involved on several CSR related programs including Iftar with Surau Al Aziziah in Keramat and Program Sinar Syawal Di Jalanan where the UUM VC, Prof Dr. Ahmad Martadha was present. Since the PGA students’ classes differ in timing, it’s difficult to get to know each other. As such, the intention of having the program was to allow for students to get to know each other and also with the administration staff.
He stressed the need for PGA student to have a bonding with UUMKL as its “ alter mater “, where they can continue to contribute after graduation, either in ideas, time or in kind.
After that, the MC invited Provost of UUM Kuala Lumpur, Prof. Dr. Norlela Bt Hasnan to give her speech. She expressed her appreciation to the PGA committee for organizing the event and emphasized the importance of strengthening the silaturahim and togetherness spirit and a strong sense of belonging among the UUMKL community. She also highlighted the important role of the association as a platform to unify the voices of postgraduate students and as a bridge connecting students with the university in strengthening academic, professional, and social networks.Hopefully, More than just a social gathering, this program served as an important platform to strengthen social ties, build academic support networks, and foster a greater sense of togetherness between postgraduate students and the UUMKL community.
Later, Dr. Norlela Hasnan also presented certificates of appreciation to the 2024–2025 Post Graduate Association (PGA) exco members in recognition of their contributions, commitment, and service to the postgraduate community. After which all guest were treated to lunch. The event ended about 2.30 pm.
It is hoped that programmes like this will continue to serve as meaningful platform in uniting the UUMKL postgraduate community and further strengthening the spirit of togetherness in the future.
