On 20 May 2026, the Faculty of Computer Science and Technology organised its Teachers’ Day Celebration at First City University College, bringing together lecturers and students in a warm and engaging gathering.

Through interactive activities such as Guess Your Lecturer and Describe Your Lecturer, students had the opportunity to connect with lecturers beyond the classroom in a fun and relaxed environment. Students also shared appreciation messages through Teachers’ Day greeting cards, strengthening bonds within the faculty community.

Students shared that the celebration helped them feel more comfortable approaching lecturers and created a stronger sense of belonging within the faculty.

The celebration reflects the university’s commitment to fostering meaningful student-lecturer relationships and a supportive campus environment.

From 18 to 19 May 2026, students from the Faculty of Computer Science and Technology participated in the 37th International Invention, Innovation, Technology Competition and Exhibition Malaysia (ITEX 2026) held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).

The exhibition exposed students to emerging technologies, AI systems, innovative research projects, and real-world commercialisation opportunities presented by universities and technology organisations worldwide. Through interactive showcases and networking opportunities, students gained valuable insight into current innovation trends and future technology applications.

Students shared that the experience inspired creative thinking and broadened their understanding of innovation beyond the classroom.

On 14 May 2026, the Centre for Language and Extension Service conducted a mini workshop titled Create a Convincing Lie for students from the Interior Architecture and Design, Fashion Marketing, and Graphic Design degree programmes.

Through a fun and interactive presentation activity, students practised persuasive speaking techniques using vocal delivery, body language, audience engagement, and spontaneous communication. The workshop encouraged students to think creatively while strengthening their confidence and public speaking skills.

Students shared that the activity helped them better understand persuasive communication and become more confident when presenting in front of others.

The workshop reflects the university’s commitment to interactive learning experiences that strengthen students’ communication skills and confidence for future professional environments.

On 19 May 2026, students from the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Interior Architecture and Design programme participated in an educational trip to Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia (PAM), Bangsar, organised by the Faculty of Design & Built Environment.

During the visit, students explored green building systems, sustainable planning approaches, and energy-efficient design strategies implemented within the PAM Centre. The hands-on learning experience provided valuable exposure to environmentally responsible architectural practices and contemporary sustainable design solutions.

Students shared that the trip strengthened their understanding of green building concepts and inspired them to consider more sustainable approaches in future design projects.

On 14 May 2026, Leong Zhi Chee, a student from the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Graphic Design programme at First City University College, achieved 5th place at the CCC’s Adobe Certified Professional Malaysia National Championship 2026 Grand Finale held at the Petaling Jaya Marriott Hotel.

After successfully passing the first round of the competition, Zhi Chee was selected as one of the Top 30 finalists in Malaysia to participate in an intensive 8-hour live design challenge. She shared that the experience strengthened her understanding of design communication and the importance of delivering meaningful visual messages.

The achievement reflects the university college’s commitment to nurturing creative, confident, and industry-ready design graduates through real-world learning experiences.
