Go As ONE Carnival 6.0: “Merdeka” Singing Competition🎵🎤🎙
1. Eligibility Open to UTAR Staffs & Students only.
2. Entry Form All participants are compulsory to register via this google form no later than 1st September 2022.

**Limited to one entry per person.
(Registration will be closed once reaching limit of 20 participants)
3. Dates & Venue:
Singing competition will be held on 8th September 2022 from 9am to 12pm at Multipurpose Hall, UTAR Sungai Long KB Block.
Participants must reach by 8.30am for attendance registration purpose. Participants who reach later than 9am will be treated as disqualification.
4. Objectives &Themes:
The objectives of the competition are:
- To celebrate “Merdeka” with all UTARians
- To show your patriotism through singing

5. Conditions:
1. Only solo category is offered and per entry for each submission.
2. Participants would need bring own instrumentalist/accompaniment for performance, but do update the instruments/accompaniment that be used in the google form.
3. Participants are required to prepare 3- to 5-minute performance.
4. Participants will be randomly assigned the sequence of performance.
5. The performance in the event day must be performed by the participants stated in the registration entry form
6. The songs must be related to the theme of Merdeka.Participants would also be requested to list down how does the song relate to Merdeka in the registration form.
7. Participants may sing only in English, Mandarin, Malay language.
8. Participants are allowed to change the lyrics but lyrics must be attached in the google form.
9. Entries must not contain or reference any names, products or services of any company or entity or any third-party trademarks, logos, trade dress or promotion of any brand,product or services (other than the organiser’s).
10. Entries with lyrics that are lewd, obscene, sexually explicit,pornographic,disparaging, defamatory, libellous, illegal,political, offensive, or otherwise contain inappropriate content or objectionable material should not be submitted and the organizer reserves the right to remove or demand the participants to remove such entry at any time in the organizer’s sole discretion.
11. Any performance that has interpretative movements or gestures that is considered are lewd, obscene, sexually explicit, pornographic, disparaging, defamatory, libellous,
illegal, political, offensive or is inappropriate will be disqualified and the participant informed of the fact post-performance.
12. All costs and expenses in connection with the production of the entry and the participation of the competitions shall be fully borne by the participants.
6. Rights of Organizer:
1. Performance that does not comply to rules and regulations shall be disqualified. All decisions made by the respected organizers regarding this competition shall be final.
2. Entries that are damaged, corrupted, incomplete, or illegible will not be accepted and will be disqualified.
3. The organiser may at its sole and absolute discretion extend the competitions’ period at any time without any prior notice to any party whatsoever. Unless otherwise varied to the contrary by the organizer, any participation in the competitions during the extended period (if any) shall be governed by the Terms and Conditions set out herein which shall remain in full force and effect at all times.
4. By submitting an entry to the competitions, participants confirm that they are the legal and/or beneficial owner or otherwise have the intellectual property rights to submit/utilize such materials; and therefore, warrant that they have obtained rights in incorporating copyrighted materials i.e., music, soundtrack, audio, graphics, images and/or video clips in their entry. Each entry and any part thereof shall not at any time infringe or violate any laws or the rights of third party.
5. By submitting the entries, the producers and owners of the entries are to grant the organiser the exclusive rights of the copyright to use the entries or material submitted for library,promotional, or commercial use globally.
7. Judging Procedure:
A total of THREE (3) Judges will be appointed as the jury for the
competition.
1. The judges will look for a creative, engaging and inspiring
performance. Your performance will be judged based on:
a. Technique (50%)
• Vocal – Tone, Support, Diction, Intonation, Ornamentation
(extended technique) and Articulation
Dynamics: Consistent and appropriate in tandem with style and
lyrical intent
Rhythm and Tempo: Consistent with the accompaniment (if
applicable) and appropriate with the style.
b. Interpretation (30%)
• Appropriate Choice of Style
- Consistency with the chosen musical accompaniment style
- Consistent with the lyrical intent of the chosen performance

c. Showmanship (20%)
• Use of Space, Movement and Presence in relation to the interpretation
• Entertainment Value – The audience’s and judges’ reaction to the
overall performance
2. The judging panel reserves the right to reject any submission without notice or explanation to the participant.
3. All decisions made are final and no correspondences shall be
entertained.
8. Prize Giving The winners will be announced on Prizing Giving Ceremony on 8th September 2022 at 1pm in MPH.

1. Champion: Cash RM100 & E-certificate
2. 1st Runner Up: Cash RM50 & E-certificate
3. 2nd Runner Up: Cash RM30 & E-certificate

Go As One Singing Competition is back, more hyped than ever 🎤🎵 🎉We witnessed previous years' celebrations hosting tremendous participations from UTARians. The Uniqueness of each participant is here for your view and we look forward to receiving more participations this year. Let’s Go As One and celebrate our victory together.
