The Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering participated in a workshop organised by the Deputy Dean of Postgraduate and International, held at the Glenmarie Hotel & Golf Resort from 23–25 January 2026.

The workshop focused on the review and refinement of Programme Learning Outcomes (PLO) in accordance with the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF) 2.0 (2024), as well as the development of MQA Table 4. Three Master coursework programmes underwent the review process, namely the Master of Environmental Engineering (MEE), Master of Environmental Technology Management (METM), and Master in Process Safety and Loss Prevention (MPSLP).

The workshop provided a valuable platform for constructive discussion and curriculum enhancement. The department extends its sincere appreciation to the TDSA Office for their commitment and efforts in organising the workshop.

Students and lecturers from the Master of Environmental Engineering programme visited Atoz Carbon Cycle (ACC) in Sekinchan on 10 December 2025. The visit provided valuable exposure to how this Malaysian sustainability platform integrates microalgae cultivation and Black Soldier Fly (BSF) farming to reduce carbon emissions and recycle organic waste through regenerative biotechnology.

The programme featured an informative briefing and demonstrations by Ms. Jean, Dr. Baizura, and Dr. Zheng, who shared insights into ACC’s innovative approaches to carbon capture, waste valorisation, and circular economy practices; giving us valuable insight into real-world environmental engineering applications.
