Sunway University: Book Lovers United Short stories, essays, articles, poems, fairy tales, speeches, chapters of books. Who are we? People who love to read interesting things and discuss them.

We are Book Lovers United (BLU), Sunway University's official book club, and we read anything our members want to read! What do we do? We meet every week to read something and discuss it. We also eat snacks! And sometimes we play games or have other fun events. What do we read? Anything our members want to read! Short stories, essays, articles, poems, fairy tales, speeches, chapters of books… Any

topic is fair game: science fiction, history, horror, biography, current events, romance, mystery, autobiography, fantasy – sometimes funny, sometimes serious, always thought provoking! What don’t we read? The one thing we usually don’t read is complete books – we want to but we don’t have time! When and where do we meet? Tuesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 pm in NW-3-21. Hey all ! We're back to our regular meetings~ This week, we're diving into two captivating short stories that explore themes like societal norms, sacrifice, and the individual's struggle against oppressive systems.

1️⃣ "The One Who Walks Away from Omelas" by Ursula K. Le Guin: The author presents us with a utopian city called Omelas, where everyone lives in perfect harmony. To maintain this idyllic existence however, one child must suffer. Delve into the moral dilemma and philosophical questions raised by this powerful story.

2️⃣ "The Yellow Wallpaper" by Charlotte Perkins Gilman: Prepare for a haunting narrative. Through the eyes of an unnamed protagonist, we witness her descent into madness as she becomes increasingly obsessed with the patterns in the yellow wallpaper of her room.
