AMU is proud to be part of an international research collaboration awarded a RMB100,000 research grant by Jilin Province, China, to advance biometric payment security within smart retail ecosystems.

The project, titled "Security Evaluation and Anti-Spoofing Framework for Palm-Based Biometric Payment Systems in Smart Retail Ecosystem", brings together researchers from Jilin International Studies University (JISU), Guangzhou Huashang College (GZHC), and Asia Metropolitan University (AMU), strengthening academic collaboration between China and Malaysia.

Led by Professor Dr. Song Dandan (JISU), the research team includes Professor Dr. Azizah Suliman and Associate Professor Dr. Syarizal Abdul Rahim from AMU, alongside fellow researchers from JISU, GZHC, and UNITEN.

Building connections. Sharing ideas. Creating opportunities.

We recently paid a courtesy visit to Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) to explore opportunities for collaboration in academic development, internationalisation, research, and industry engagement.

Representing our university were Dr. Hassan Basri Jahubar Sathik, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), and Dr. Syarizal Abdul Rahim, Dean of the Faculty of Business Management and Accounting. We were warmly received by Prof. Dr. Mohd Azizuddin Mohd Sani, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International), Prof. Madya Dr. Ahmad Hisham Zainal Abidin, Director of the Centre for International Affairs and Cooperation, and Prof. Madya Ts. Dr. Mohd Kamarul Irwan Abdul Rahim, Dean of the School of Technology Management and Logistics, together with members of the UUM leadership team.

The visit provided a valuable platform for exchanging ideas, strengthening institutional ties, and discussing potential collaborations that will benefit our students, academics, and the wider higher education community.
