RYLA 2013 - Rotary International District 3300

RYLA is a leadership training programme organised by Rotary Clubs across the world. In Malaysia, RYLA involves youths between the ages of 16 to 30 who are usually chosen for their leadership potential and sponsored by their local Rotary Clubs. The sponsoring Rotary Clubs and Rotary International District 3300 cover all expenses for the participants. The format of the event varies, but commonly tak

es the form of a seminar, camp, or workshop to discuss leadership skills and to learn those skills through practice. Rotary Clubs in District 3300 select the participants and the host Rotary Club facilitates the event's curriculum. RYLA 2013 will be held from 18 to 22 December 2013 at AIMST University, Sungai Petani, Kedah. The theme of RYLA 2013 is “Make A Difference”. Demonstrate Rotary's respect and concern for youth;
2. Provide an effective training experience for selected youth and potential leaders;
3. Encourage leadership of youth by youth;
4. Recognise publicly young people who are rendering service to their communities. Every RYLA programme covers the following core topics :-
1. Fundamentals of leadership
2. Ethics of positive leadership
3. Importance of communication skills in effective leadership
4. Problem-solving and conflict management
5. Rotary's purpose and service to the community
6. Building self-confidence and self-esteem
7. Elements of community and global citizenship
